Mario’s Mexican and El Salvadorian Restaurant in Dallas at Dorothy Avenue and Lemmon Avenue is a delight. Their food is fresh-tasting and their service is friendly and efficient. Starting with a basket of light and crispy tortilla chips while you peruse their extensive menu, your taste buds are in for a treat. Along with the chips, three distinctly different dips are offered. The red one is rich and laced with fresh cilantro; the green is tomatillo-based andis light and fresh tasting; the brown is well-seasoned beans.The chile Relleno stuffed with cheese was expertly fried in a light batter and finished off with a not-too-spicy red sauce. This dish is accompanied by refried beans, Mexican rice, guacamole and pico de gallo. The flank steak was tasty albeit simply preparedThe flank steak was tasty albeit simply prepared with salt and pepper. Accompanying the steak was a cheese enchilada, refried beans, Mexican riceand, guacamole. All this tasty Mexican food was made better by a Dos Equis beer. They are open later than most restaurants, which is something to keep in mind in case you have a hankering for Mexican food late in the evening. This restaurant is worth checking out.
