After our very successful visit to the Frisco location, we stopped at the Addison Pollo Tropical on Belt LineWe Nomd: Chicken Tropichop, Kids chicken w/yellow rice, guava barOm: So glad that we had a consistent visit when compared to the one in Frisco! If I were trying to convince someone to eat here, I would say that if they had been to another location and enjoyed their food, this location brings the same consist food and service. I would say that you can make a VERY healthy, filling meal for a reasonable price, and that they even have nutritional facts for those that are really health conscious. I would tell them that their chicken is surprisingly moist and flavorful, and they do not skimp on the meat with the Tropichop. Speaking of that, I would recommend the Tropichop because you can customize a number of items that you get in it, including the meat and type of rice. Oh, and I would also say that they HAD to try the guava bar! The cake they use on each side of the guava is delicious! If I were trying to dissuade someone from going here, I would tell them that the restaurant is lacking atmosphere, as every location that we have been too has not been busy, kinda dead. I would also say that there are a LOT of dining options in the area, all types of options, so there simply just might be something better around if they were in the mood for something else. My wonderful Nom and I really like Tropichop and would certainly go back!Nom: Ahhhhh the beauty of a good chain restaurant, gosh I feel badI feel the same way about this one as the last review. I had a kids plate with a chicken thigh and drumstick and it was a lot of food The chicken was so tasty and the rice was nice and fluffy and full of veggies. This one seemed pretty new inside also so it was really clean, again not very busy which was kind of a surprise! I like that they prepare the food right where you can see. I dont like the thought of my food being prepped in a mystery environment! This place I love with my handsome love!!!
My best friend, godson, and I went to our favorite Miami Chicken Institution that is now in the central region of the country. We ordered the 1/2 grilled chicken with rice, black beans, and boiled yucca. Also ordered a side of plantains. It was delish and better than Miami. A lot of food for the price. We were upset that it was here in Dallas for 2 years and we did not know. We will be back in due time to eat our chicken, I wish they would expand into Oklahoma because there are no grilled chicken chains here.
You May Like It—I Don’t. This was our first experience to eat at this restaurant. We were drawn in by a coupon we received that said two people could eat for $9.99. When we presented the coupon to the cashier she was thourghly confused and kept asking what we wanted and ringing up prices. Finally the bill seemed to escalate so much she had to call the manager who came to the cash register and sorted the amount out so that we got two meals for $9.99. The meal consisted of a 14-baked chicken and that had to have been one of the smallest chickens on earth as it was really small. Guess I am too used to the three pounders that we get at Sams Club. I was told I could have one side, which I took the Caesar salads, which came in a small, and I mean very small bowl. I just assumed I was getting the rice and beans as the cashier ask if I wanted white or brown rice and if I wanted red or black beans. Those options though disappeared once the manager arrived and she stated we would get one or the other but not both. I stuck with the salad and my spouse took the green beans. She wished she had not once she tasted then. Seemed to have been cooked in a strange oil that had a distinctive taste and smell. There was one small roll on each plate. The roll was about 2 inches by 2 niches. I am telling you this place operates as though it was in a miniature society. The drinks came with the meal and they were both small however that was not an issue as you could refill them. With the special came Sweet Fried Plantains which after taking the first bite we wished they had not. We left the dish almost untouched. My biggest issues with this restaurant are the size of the food portions including the chicken and the high prices. The regular price on the meal we received would have been $17.35 plus tax. Way too much for the quantity and quality of the food that we received. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated in a caribbean theme and is painted in the same light colored themes. Very nice!
First Visit. My sixteen year old drove nearly 10 miles to go get dinner for the family, only to arrive home with the wrong order. I am trying to call and no answer it’s a message saying please enter your access code. Kept getting that message….now line is busy? Who is running this place…really? Won’t last long when you can’t deliver or answer the phone! Will not be going there again just on principal!!! RIDICULOUSLY PATHETIC!
I love it,the best caribbean food, delicious and fresh, should open one in plano
