Hipster brewery serving creative above bar food with a friendly and helpful staff.SIGHT: Large outdoor patio makes this a great daytime/nighttime hangout. Large interior communal tables and big booths make this a great get together spot for friends.SOUND: Busy Wednesday night crowd of after hours work parties and board game groups.TOUCH: Clean, enough for a hipster Deep Ellum brewery.SMELL: N/ATASTE: House Salad- fresh spinach with goat and heirloom tomatoes. Fresh but uninspired.Brussel Sprouts- Roasted with generous spiced pecan halves that added crunch and spice to the dish. Ample and delicious.Bone in Pork Belly- DELICIOUS. Juicy, tender and well charred, this is some of the best pork belly I have had in Dallas. Goat cheese grits were a bit cold but tasty. Cornmeal crusted onion rings were crispy, hot and delicious. Totally worth the calories.Smoked Rueben- Fresh rye bread, crunchy slaw, and a handful of delicious smoked meat made this sandwich great. The collard greens were tangy, smoky, and a southern staple.House Made Chicarrones- crispy, delicious, and not greasy. The perfect bar food. whiskandtell.com

We had the bacon flight and the table sandwich. The sandwich was just okay. The fries were adequate. The ketchup really stole the show and carried the meal. We also had the bacon flight which is a great concept, but the explanation for why they couldn’t give us a regular flight like we asked was pretty weak. Apparently, during brunch, you can only order this version of the flight which is paired with bacon.

I had a decent experience here, Nothing too over the top. The service was good and the atmosphere was ok. A little too loud for my liking, but nothing major. I ordered the table sandwich and the chili brisket. As well as the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. Brussels were good, nothing to rave about though. My favorite was the table sandwhich, the bacon was nice and thick and the egg nice and runny, perfection. The brisket chili was pretty good, I have to say it would’ve been better if it had a little spice or sweetness to it seemed kinda bland. I also ordered their donut for dessert. Wasn’t really what I was expecting, their jalapeo cream cheese was just too much and it took all the sweetness away from the donut. I regret not getting the cookies and milk, but maybe next time.

The worst meal I have had in a long long time. Ordered the coma burger and the interior was raw. My wife ordered the same and a higher temperature. The food was raw on her’s too. Such a disappointment.

Loved, loved, loved my lunch today at Braindead. I ordered the beer brined chicken sandwich which was so good! Friends of mine at he table enjoyed the Cuban and the fish salad which they were both saying great things about. I’ll be back! Friendly staff and you get that Deep Ellum vibe of character while being in a completely new space.

The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the food is amazing. We had the Coma Burger and Drunken Steak Salad with no regrets. The only downside is the ever changing beer menu which is hard to know what is good… You just have to manup and try one. BIG BONUS FOR ME… The music selection, a great mix of punk rock throwbacks featuring Rancid, Johnny Cash and the Ramones to name a few.
