Live music, friendly staff, light up drinks from the bar, Congo lines, chips and salsa – what’s not to love? The brisket enchiladas were delish but still nothing like the ones from our favorite Mexican cuisine restaurant- Frankie’s.
Went to Monica’s frequently, have not been back since the name change. We decided to return after a year. The atmosphere is still fun but food has become bland and was disappointed. Some familiar faces but they lost a great waiter, David durning the transition. Used to be busy and standing room only, now was able to get right in and seated. The service was still good. Don’t think I will be back and and this is disappointing, always was my top choices
Great Salsa. I have been coming to Dallas on business for several months now and always make sure that I hit Maracas for high-quality margaritas – the way God intended them to be made, without sour mix. What keeps me coming back is their killer habanero salsa. Served hot – physically and chemically – it is sure to keep you sweating. I highly reccommend this unassuming restaurant in the funky Deep Ellum area
Writing a glowing review for the folks at Maracas is the least I can do for the hard work that went into making my wife’s Birthday special! The food was great but the service and entertainment was spectacular! We had 30 people and the staff worked quickly and was very accommodating for such a large group. We brought in our own cake and dropped it off three hours before our reservation so we could enjoy the Deep Ellum Arts Festival. When it was time for dessert, they brought it out with candles lit, then took it back to the kitchen to cut and serve. Perfect service! The live music was also incredible! They involved us the entire evening because they knew our party was there. My wife got to dance on stage and lead the Conga line (complete with Tequila shot)!Overall, it was an awesome experience especially given how busy things were with the Arts Festival.Muchas Gracias!
Nice joint, with forward thought Mexican grub. Friendly staff, live music on Saturday nights- Chilo. Good spot.
Something a bit different than you’d expect. Monica was making her trendy interpretation of Mexican food before it became fashionable. Years later, the food is still top notch. Marry that with a cool surroundings, top-notch mood bands in the evenings, and their sangria swirl, and you’re bound to impress your companion.
