This Review is for the Chocolateka in San Antonio. At First, we were very excited about a new place only to be short lived. Significantly Overpriced with Awful Customer Service, and everything is store bought.
Horrible! Everything is over priced & store bought. The strawberry shortcakesare from little debbies. The soda generic and the overpriced ice cream the cheapest from HEB. What a rip off the quailty is poor.
I tried ordering a prepared fruit cocktail but was bombarded with exceptions to what types of fruit I could order and after the cashier (the owner) couldn’t explain to me why the daughter was asked to explain. Still was unclear so I just paid the extra $2 in addition I added some sour punch strips which was $1.50 more so I paid $11 for a very small bowl of fruit. First and last time I go. Also their prices change constantly and dramatically. Way too expensive!!
Love this place!. I love this place. Every time we drive into Laredo, we make it a point to stop here. Yes the prices are a bit high but in comparison to other places that sell chocolate covered apples/strawberries, the prices are competitive! The treats here are delicious. Especially the caramel chocolate apples. Completely worth the price!!
Confused by Prices and Quality. I should know better by now but I never seem to learn. I’m always surprised by the high prices of chocolate-covered anything. I headed over to this place today to try it out and wasn’t all too impressed with the selection — much less the prices. Twelve cookies that could have been blown out of the water by those found in Wal-Mart or some other big box store weren’t impressive at all. Never getting that again…A three pack of small green apples: one with caramel and chocolate, the second one the same as the first but rolled in cookie crumbs, and the third was covered in chamoy candy/powder. The last one definitely made the trip and high price somewhat worth it. All in all, I can’t see myself going to this place anymore. Limited selection and high prices make for a bad combination.
