Good potential, badly managed. I think it really goes back to the owner, whoever that person is. Midland is ooming and this place is a prime location downtown, but it seems somewhat neglected. They allow vagrants to sit in there all day long, and while vagrants do need a place to sit… I am not sure the local indepedent downtown coffee shop is necessarily the best place. That may harsh or callous wording, but I guarantee more business people and young professional types would hang out there if homeless/vagrants were not seen frequenting the establishment as much as they do. At any rate, their coffee drink are just fine. Comparable in taste and price to just about any other independent or chain coffee shop. i feel like this place has so much potential. it could be a cool downtown hangout. but it isn’t yet.
BAD BAD BAD. I went in first thing in the morning when you would think the place would be cleanest as sweeping and mopping should be what the closing people would have done. Boy was I wrong. The tables and floors were DIRTY and when I asked for a bagel and cream cheese the girl wiggled a wheat bagel out of a sara lee bag into my hands, handed me a tube of cream cheese and pointed me to the side bar so I could toast my bagel. I could have spent the $ on gas and bought my own at HEB and toasted it myselft at home. What a waste of time and effort. There goes 10 mins I’ll never get back.

I like supporting the local guys but I really wish I’d just gone to Starbucks. Dirty, uncomfortable seating and subpar coffee.
