  This place does for steak what bowling shoes do for tuxedos. The cuts are poor, the steaks are unseasoned and the service leaves a lot to be desired. If a place is really bad, there are no second chances but I was a guest on the second trip a found the above to still be true.

  Highly Disappointing – Go elsewhere. This was the first time I have been to a Cattle Baron restaurant and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. For starters, we were there to celebrate a special occasion and were seated rather quickly. We had a table in the back of the restaurant near a large group that was celebrating a birthday.. we think. Our orders were taken for drinks. It took quite a while, about 15 minutes to get our drinks. A bottle of wine was ordered that should be chilled. The person in our party that ordered it had to step away from our table for a few minutes. The bottle was left on the table to warm up, strike one. Upon his return, it took a bit longer for the waitress to come back, mind you the waitress would be the best thing out of this adventure. Finally our wine was poured, but still no drinks for one person in our party that we were celebrating and yes the server was reminded. We placed our order and didn’t see our server again except when she was at the larger table near us. As we got up to go to the salad bar, one of us was stuck to the chair with chewing gum. Strike two. There was an attempt to call our server over, but couldn’t find her. Still no drink. Three out of the four of us went to the salad bar, as one was still stuck. We tried to make light of it, but it didn’t help them out. No sooner had we gotten our salads and our dinner was being served not by our waitress but other staff, no mushrooms that were ordered. Mind you the person that was stuck still wanted to go the salad bar, but her new jeans had a glob of gum. Low and behold, her steak is delivered, TWO separate steaks cooked to TWO separate temperatures. One looked like shoe leather the other medium. Her bake potato was not prepared like she had wanted, yet everyone else was… STRIKE THREE!!! The manager showed up and tried to give excuses as to why this would happen. Sometimes the steaks come apart when cooking and that’s why two separate pieces. The head cook was training a new one. At this point I was really fed up with the restaurant. I explained to the manager that I work in the food service industry and that what they had produced that evening was unacceptable. This is not a fast food restaurant this is a place where you go for a special occasion… Never again! Finally the manager apologized for the error and another plate was produced. I inquired about having her jeans cleaned and she said that they don’t do that. All the restaurants I have worked in have told the customers to take them to the cleaners, sometimes a specific one where an account was held, and sometimes they were asked to bring the receipt in where they were promptly reimbursed, given an appetizer in the bar and a round of drinks bought for their trouble for being inconvenienced. Here comes our server, who apologized when we saw her. She never saw the plates that were brought out until it was too late. She did give us choice of desserts, Creme Brulee was chosen…. which was not cooked properly, served very warm, and had an extremely thick crust of sugar. I could still go on… but I think you get the point. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but with this experience, I will not be returning nor recommending this place. You would do well to go anywhere else to get a steak and better treatment.
