Awesome little gem. Really excellent caldo de rez! Really cheap and very tasty. Only complaint are the waiting staff not really attentive as I’m used to but it’s not a big deal. Definitely coming back!
Soup. Great Talpeno soup on Mondays. Always have good specials.
Good hole-in-the-wall. Tasty old-school home made tasting mexican food. Used to walk here and have lunch about once a week when I worked downtown. The huevos rancheros for breakfast are pretty damn good and for lunch pretty much all their lunch specials will not disappoint. The caldo de res is very flavorful here (comes w/ lunch special) not watery and tasteless like malinche’s and most other places. Both the lengua and liver a la mexicana platters are standouts.
Mexican Cottage. The food that they offer during the Lenten season is exceptionally good. They also have great capirotada.
Cheap and simple breakfast. Stopped by for breakfast since I had to get a wheel alignment across the street and it turned out to be an OK breakfast. What it comes down to is that they have very affordable breakfast options that taste good. If you want to have a cheap and decent Mexican style breakfast, well this is definitely the place you want to go to.
