Awesome. Tejas Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat. Whenever I’m in El Paso my aunt likes to go there and take me with her. We mostly go for breakfast but we have been there a few times for dinner and lunch. I like to get the menudo but I have had the machaca omelette which is delicious. If they have the barbacoa tacos on special get them; they’re delicious. The diner feel is great, the place is nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly.
Mexican/American Diner. I’ve been here several times and will continue to dine here from time to time. The food is good, and about what you’d expect from a diner although they have Mexican as well as American dishes available. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, the prices are decent, and place is nice and clean. I would recommend this place to others.
Brisket Tacos. The brisket tacos plate is awesome everything else is eh, take it or leave it.
Tejas Cafe (delicious). I never write reviews on anything but I love this place so much I will. There is a reason why Tejas Cafe’s menu thanks its regulars. We make it a habit to eat there at least once a week because the food, the service and the atmosphere is fantastic and always consistent. On food: I have tried a variety of their dishes, mainly all of the Mexican ones. By far, my favorite are the chicken tacos and the huevos rancheros. The tacos are crispy but not greasy, the rice and beans have the proper consistency. The portions are not huge (like you get in many MX restaurants) they are moderately sized making you feel full but not stuffed. Their french toast is so delicious and not too sweet. The flan is also so delicious. On service: TC makes you feel welcomed and part of the family. My favorite is Vero. As soon as we sit, she brings our drinks right away (she makes it a habit to remember your drink and your order). She always has a smile and is so friendly. On atmosphere: I read a review commenting on the walls and the floor. Well, there is nothing wrong with the walls or the floor. I eat there with my husband and we can hold conversations (we are both quite soft spoken) and have no problem hearing each other. And to further comment on the last review, I go there for the food not to nitpick at the misspellings on the menu. This is an old fashioned kind of place. Always consistent, always friendly, always delicious. I certainly recommend this place!
