Ever since the owner died the restaurant has gone down hill. The service is slow and the food is not as good as it use to be. Ordered menudo and it was delivered to the table all sloppy, chile all over the bowl. Another time placed order by phone and they got it wrong, went to pick it up and the old woman at the registered argued about the order, so I just asked for my money back. Thought the customer was always right. They could have at least offered to fix the order. Anyway, the grand kids who took over don’t know what they are doing! Guess nothing good lasts for ever.
We went for lunch to have the comida corrida. 1st they ran out of chicken soup, fine no big deal the res was good. Then you have an option of Mole or Picadillo a la Mexicana. I never liked mole, so my husband and I picked the Picadillo while our other two co-workers got Mole. They came back to tell me they ran out of PIcadillo. They substituted flautas which I happen to love. When they came out the Mole plates looked great enough to fill them. We got our Flauta plates and we got kids plates. I had a bit of beans and 2 flautas, a spoon of salad with one huge tomato on it and a teaspoon of sour cream and avocado. The Flautas were dry and rubbery from sitting there all day. Worst experience ever. Too bad I cannot give them a negative. Our waitress was pleasant but the cashier had the personality of a statue.
Caldo de Pollo (Chicken). Delicious! One of my favorites in town!
Good Mexican Food. I have been to this restaurant several times in the recent past and I’m very pleased with their food and service. My favorite dishes are the Nopalitos salad, and the Gorditas. Frankly I haven’t had anything I’m dissatisfied with yet. Service has consistently been friendly, timely, and reliable. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Mexican food dining experience.
Best Mexican food in El Paso. The food here is great. I don’t get why the rating is so low. Gordas are very good.
