Wow!!! I have finally found the best Pizza joint in Texas. Bay 34th street has awesome Brooklyn style pizza. Their dough was perfect, light, slightly crispy with the right amount of chew.
Judge Bay34th for what it is–an old-school, NY-style pizza parlor–and on that count, it scores very well. Don’t ask for artisanal, hydroponic salad greens or farm-to-table pork cheek, you teetotalers! These are traditional NY pies and they don’t apologize for it. With a large selection of delicious pizzas on deck available by the slice, as well as some solid pasta and chicken dishes, this place is worth stopping by. And oh my God, are the cannolis good!************************UPDATE (3/17/16)******************************I went back to Bay34th a couple of weeks ago for (what I hoped would be) a quick dinner, while my kid was at practice. NOT a good experience. So I dropped the rating to 3.0. The owner was not manning the counter and his second-stringers really dropped the ball. All I ordered was a philly cheesesteak and it took about a half an hour. No kidding—three families walked in after me and all had their full orders in front of them before me. When I went up to the counter to ask about the delay, I got these bewildered and confused expressions in response. But it still took another 10-15 minutes after that. Time to seriously coach-up, re-train or replace your bench… And the cheesesteak was nothing to write home about—stick to the pizza.
