Needville is about 40 miles south on 59 from Houston. Based on a recommendation for the homemade pie, a friend and I did a Tuesday road trip. Daily specials of a meat entree with two sides and rolls. A bargain at $9. I opted for the smaller chicken fried steak and was very pleased.And the pies were excellent. Sampled were coconut pie which got the most thumbs up from those sampling, followed by the apple pie and the peach cobbler.We all agreed that we are already thinking about going back. A very enjoyable experience. While visiting Needville, be sure to drop by Ohl Style Jerky and Barbecue, nearer to downtown Needville, to pick up some excellent pecan smoked jerky, barbecue brisket and sausage, all of which are made on premises. thefriedchickenblog.blogspot.com
