I had the privilege of going to school with Sonya (who the platter is named after) she is quite possibly one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of calling a friend. Her family are the most amazing and beautiful people. They work so hard and have put so much of themselves into the food and the restaurant. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ft Worth. You can tell from the quality of the food how much they care about the customers. The staff is polite and always so friendly. It is always a pleasure to eat here.
Love this place!. I really enjoy the new TCU location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. Best nachos and brisket tacos! Can’t beat the Wednesday margarita special prices. 😀

Friday Night Dining. Came here on 08/02/13 as a random option for someplace new. This place is your standard Mexican food restaurant. Chips and and salsa was pretty good. I ordered the Los Vaqueros Dinner, which was a tamale, enchilada and a taco and a side of queso. I did enjoy it. My gf had the tortilla soup and she said it was pretty good. Not the best Mexican food I’ve had but it’s worth a visit once in a while if you want a change. Service was pretty good for the most part.
I want to like this place. I enjoy the queso and the rice, but the main entree meals just aren’t that great. I had the flautas, they were burnt and super dry with no flavor.
Best authentic Tex-Mex in Fort Worth. I’ve been a resident of Fort Worth for over 6 years now, and Los Vaqueros has the best Tex-Mex cuisine in the area. If I lived in Dallas, I would drive to one of the three Fort Worth area locations to get my mexican fix. Delicious margaritas (TCU location has the famous, purple Frogarita – outstanding) and even better enchiladas and fajitas. Atmosphere is friendly and lively. Also a great place for caterings/banquets.
Excellent Tex-Mex. If you are looking for great food at reasonable prices then Los Vaqueros is your best bet. I have always enjoyed the cool and refreshing chicken salad for lunch. At dinner I have always been very pleased with enchiladas or the sizzling fajitas! It is a great place to bring the whole family. It is also a great atmosphere for a date and may I recommend trying the skinny margaritas?
