Off the beaten path. Authentic diner vibe. Lots of chrome and tile – period music. Food was good and service for lunch was fast and friendly. Club Sandwich was good! Great airport view – got to watch a helicopter land.
Like the setting, but not the service. The setting is nice, the food is average, but the service is consistently bad. We’ve been there a few times, and the young servers seem to prefer standing around visiting with each other while ignoring the customers. We probably won’t return for awhile… maybe their service will improve by then.
Great burgers, real old fashion malts and shakes, good service and lots of fun watching the planes take off and land.
50s style Dinner facing the Fredericksburg runway. Kid friendly. We take our toddler to eat breakfast and watch the planes. Breakfast food is great. The Pancakes and Omlets are good. Service is good somedays and marginal on others. Over great place to take the kids and you can walk around checking out the parked planes to work off your breakfast.
Okay Food. The kids like it because it is right on the runway and you can watch the planes. The food isn’t great, but it isn’t terrible. Just ordinary fried diner fare.
What’s the deal?. I went to the Airport Diner today and ordered their Bomber Burger. It is advertised in the menu as a 1/2 pound patty on a toasted bun with lettuce, onion and tomato for $8.96.The burger they served was no way near a 1/2 pound patty. If it started out as a 1/2pound, precooked, it must have been 4/5 fat. It was preformed, very thin, plain and pedestrian. I can’t even compare it to a Dairy Queen HungerBuster. There was nothing at all remarkable about the burger. It was lame.Service was acceptable at the counter but I was disappointed in the Bomber Burger.Craig
Classic chrome diner. I love this place! Chrome, black and white tile, and a friendly staff. Simple diner fare… burgers, breakfast, club sandwiches, and the likes. The three times I have been here the food was very good. Great view of the runway as well.If you ever get a chance to stay at the hotel next door I would highly recommend it as well. It is like stepping back to the 1940’s.
