Bad food, bad service, overpriced. Spent a week in Fredericksburg eating mediocre tourist food and saved the Navajo Grill for our last nice meal in town. Got seated on a drafty, dark covered patio – the waiter mostly forgot we were there. Thought the food would save the day – ordered salmon that came cold and undercooked. Way overpriced for the worse than mediocre food – disappointing evening all around. Got the impression they knew they were a tourist restaurant and people would only go there once.

Worst Dining Experience To Date!. I would like to start this email by letting everyone know I had made a reservation AT LEAST three weeks in advance. We were coming to Fredericksburg for a half day wine tour followed by a nice dinner. I had done my research and decided on Navajo based on several things including proximity to our accommodations and the menu looked as though it had something for everyone to offer. I originally spoke with Kenneth from Navajo and confirmed my reservations with Fernando. There were several other people who I talked to throughout this process. One of this things that should have been a red flag was that on more than one occasion they couldn’t find the reservation. A group of 11 should be a hard reservation to misplace – anyway, we were still excited to get there and just enjoy our weekend and here is where I have experienced the MOST unprofessional service I have ever encountered. Saturday, the day of our reservation and also of our half day wine tour, I received not one, but two phone calls from the restaurant confirming that were coming. I understand ONE confirmation call. The second one was more abrupt. I was told that if we were not at the restaurant by 6:30 they would give up our table – and that they we would have be done eating and closed out by 8:30. I would like to add in here that when I booked this reservation I was told that we would have exclusive use of the patio since they weren’t able to sit us in the private room, so I was confused and annoyed by this. We rush out of our third and final winery to make it to dinner on time, we get there, and I am greeted off of the limo bus by a woman … who removes me from the group and reminds me yet again that we must be done eating by 8:30. I am nothing if not annoyed at this point. We sat down, ordered a round of shots to cheers the bachelorrett and then begin to enjoy our dinner. We order appetizers, entrees, and bottles and bottles of wine. Our total amount spent was over $1000.00 – and that was the service that we received. The food: Sub par at best. The pork chop was dry and chewy. The steak which was ordered medium rare plus was served well. The duck was chewy. The one positive, the mac and cheese was fantastic from what I heard. Service: Worst service ever. The kid who served us was rude, slow and clearly lacking in knowledge. We literally had to track him down anytime we needed anything. It was laughable. My alternative location was The Nest. I wish we would have gone there. Maybe they would have appreciated our patronage.

We have had two dinners there and the food was terrible both times. We had the filet mignon and flat iron steak and the filet was as tough as the flat iron steak. Tonight we had the salmon and the pork chop. Both we terrible. The food is lousy at any price. We paid over 120 dollars for two people both times and will not go back.

Fantastic steak with a great atmosphere and wait staff. Definitely recommend this place.

Average for the price. I believe this is more of a 2.5 stars. I more than likely won’t be back, but there were some good features. I do like the fact that I could make a reservation for two of us. Being a large tourist town, this was an important value added feature. We arrived at 6.30pm for our dinner date. The place was filling up pretty quickly and that concerned me a little bit. They have a large seated patio area and an outside bar. We opted to be seated inside. Many tables around us were also filled shortly there after. They had a couple of specials listed on a separate postcard and a drink card as well. Our waitress was polite and informative. Definitely a career server. We ordered the marinated texas goats cheese appetizer. Double pork chop and a filet for the wifey, and a couple glasses of wine. The goat cheese appetizer was a large serving with home made pepita flatbread. It was quite tasty and we made the conscious decision not to eat it all so we could enjoy the rest of our meal. Fresh bread was being brought to the table constantly as was the constant filling of our waters. A little irritating, but we didn’t run dry that’s for sure! Our entrees came out and they were impressively presented. We also got a side of Green Chile Mac and Cheese. My Ancho mashers were whipped nicely but unfortunately my chop was a little dry and overcooked. Our waitress mentioned they would prepare it medium. The meat closest to the bone was a little better, but overall it wasn’t what I expected. Suzie’s filet was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The Mac & Cheese was creative but nothing out of the ordinary. I expected it to be a little more spicy than it was.Overall, I couldn’t help to feel that the kitchen got slammed with all the patrons being seated about the same time. The table across for us, a 6 top sent an entree back because it was cold and it took almost 45 minutes to get our entree from when we ordered. Our tab ended up being $109, which is where I definitely feel a little underwhelmed by our experience. It could of been a lot more, but like I mentioned we just had two glasses of wine. We may pop in and check out the bar scene when we are in town next time we’ll see.
