Awesome find!! Everything about our experience at Otto’s was perfect – the venue, the service, the food and the prices. We had the venison meatballs for an appetizer. They were delicious and flavorful. I could have ordered another plate. For entree I got the gnocchi dish. Enjoyed it just as well. I live 4 hours from Fredericksburg but I hope to make it back and would eat at Otto’s all over again!17 Nov, 2014Gnocchi. Great dish!17 Nov, 2014Venison Meatballs. Amazing! Lies. Told us on the phone that they didn’t take reservations and that it would be an hour and a half wait but there was ample space when we arrived. We were told that the table we could sit at a table until 8:30 when a reservation was coming in… We walked out.
Inventive wonderful food. Excellent friendly service. Good and reasonable wine list.
Awesome Germain fair, hip atmosphere. Otto’s was on the list of places to try during our trip to Fredericksburg last weekend and I’m very glad we did! Otto’s has standard German food but with a contemporary, modern atmosphere. We had an early dinner, good because it got packed starting about 6 that Saturday. We ordered the Konigsberger Klopse as an appetizer and loved them, such a unique flavor! For entrees we had the Duck Schnitzel and the Wurst Platte, both of which were amazing. The duck was outstanding and I’m not particularly a duck fan. And I could eat a whole bowl of their spaetzle. Service was awesome, our waitress was super cool and friendly. There were some strange other patrons, particularly some hipsters from Austin taking obnoxious pictures the whole time, even staging a model by the bar and getting in the way of the kitchen and wait staff. I think next time we will dine on the patio for a quieter experience. Can’t wait to get back up and try some of the other items!
Quaint atmosphere; Overrated food. Interesting atmosphere and crowd. Good wine. Good service. Fresh food, but preparation short on execution. Gnocchi was dry and gummy; very small portion. Ribeye was way overpriced and was a thin cut. The quality was akin to a supermarket cut. Only 3 small potatoes accompanied steak. Glad we went, but probably wouldn’t go back. The wurst plate is pictured below.
Amazing small plates!
Superb Restaurant. This new restaurant serves very creative, delicious dishes in a cozy atmosphere. The menu changes weekly, with a good wine selection and a full bar. Service is excellent and the owners are on-site and very friendly. Seating is indoors or outside on a lovely patio. We particularly have liked their duck and venison dishes… desserts and drinks, too!
