Not impressed. Everything was kinda dirty and dingy. The food was fair at best. The whole experience was lacking. I wouldn’t go back. There’s nothing German about the place of that’s what you’re seeking.

VERY noisy! Server wasnt very friendly. Food was slow in coming out and my wifes order was completely wrong. Ordered the ribeye. The portobello sauce was very salty. Cheddar mashed potatoes were barely mashed. Carrots almost tasted sour. The ambiance was non existent.

Dependable and delicious food. Always try to stop here when coming through Fredericksburg. German platter provides a good sample of sausages & schnitzel along with good sauerkraut and red cabbage. Save room for the peach bread pudding, which is a must have.

Tucked under a building in the basement, hence the name. The joint was very good. Nice folks there. Cesar is a talented chef.I had the Jager Schnitzel. Served with red cabbage and German warm potato salad. Very nicely done. They also have Mexican and american dishes.

A friend and I went here on 2/1/2019 while visiting Fredericksburg before heading home. She had been there for breakfast before and thought it was nice. We both weren’t very hungry so we ordered the meatballs with angel hair pasta…boy were we surprised at the amount of food! And the fresh made tomato sauce was wonderful. And they even had a young lady playing Harp that evening and she was great. Really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. We plan on doing it again when we visit Fredericksburg again.

Great Breakfast place in a basement, I had the American breakfast which was just fine, my wife had the Eggs Benedict, which she considers herself an expert on, THE BEST she has had in the last ten years, trust me I would take that as high praise from her. The service and location was wonderful.

French toast and biscuits and gravy are good. Service not so much. We also sat underneath an air conditioning vent that started dripping on us.
