I went for lunch and the service was fast and friendly. The fried green tomatoes were flavorful with an excellent crunchy breaded coating. The sauted mushrooms and chicken and dumplings were excellent also.
Now I remember why I haven’t been here in several years (when they first opened I came here all the time). Don’t come with a group! They are very unwilling to rearrange tables. When we called for a reservation they said no: it depends on who comes in the door first. When we got here they told us 15-20 minutes. While we’ve been waiting (40+ minutes now), they’ve accommodated three groups of five and one group of seven, plus a ton of one or two people … and they’re waiting for another group of 11 to finish before they will seat us.
Best comfort food in town.
Great service and friendly waitstaff. Nice option for homestyle food. Love the squash casserole.
We love the food, but the service would be much better if the waitstaff would spend more time with the customers rather than congregating up front and talking to each other.
