I went for Dallas restaurant week. Quality of food was great. I loved the she crab soup. The portion sizes were not bad, especially for the entre. I got the blackened redfish, it was delicious and filling. They were a little busy that night so the kitchen was running slowly. I don’t recommend getting wine there because they don’t give you the full glass for $16.

Restaurant Week in Dallas has started! 20% of the proceeds from preset menus go to the North Texas food bank, so we are eating for a good cause! Our first stop is the Nola Grill in FriscoOm: This is my first experience with any kind of New Orleans type food, I really did not know what to expect. The place was not very busy for a Friday night, so we got seated immediately and service was fast and attentive. Dcor did remind me of something I would see in a movie set in New Orleans, but thats all I can say since I have never actually been there before. Nice grand piano when we came in, which was neat, along with low level jazz music over the speakers. Time for some food, and first up was a tomato mozzarella salad, which was excellent! Large pieces of seared mozzarella on top of a large tomato slice withlittle haystack onions? Drizzled with a dressing, it was a tasty combo. Next up was chicken stuffed with sausage. Wow, was this tender, I could cut it with a fork without trying! Again the combined the ingredients into something very tasty that I would recommend. Also tried the blue cheese potato fritters, like a crusty ball and soft potato inside – yum. The best was yet to come I ordered the mixed berry shortcake, which was fine. I had a bite of Noms bread pudding thoughBEST DESSERT EVER. It was like eating the best piece of French toast that you could imagine, then try to imagine something better than THAT! My goodness, this was a delicious ending to a meal, we are going to head there again and make a meal out of the bread pudding! Outstanding! Overall a very nice experience and a good opening to restaurant week, we will be back!Nom: I havent had New Orleans style food in a LONG time and I had forgotten how good it is. First let me say that NOLA Grill is beautiful. The interior is very well appointed and the lights outside on the patio are very inviting as well. If it hadnt been 300 degrees at 6pm I would have loved to sit outside and have our meal. The music was wonderful as well. Loud enough to hear and enjoy but not so loud you had to compete with it to have a conversation. I opened with a salad topped with the house dressing. Very nicely done, tasty dark greens with the right amount of dressing but not an overpowering amount of dressing. Next up was the funny chicken. This dish is a boneless chicken stuffed with spoon dressing and sausage. And yeahits amazing!!! They have left the skin on for even more flavor AND you can cut it with a forkyes, its done THAT right. If that werent good enough out came desert. For restaurant week they only had two choices for desert so I decided on the bread pudding. I was a little concerned because very few places do it right and when its not done right its utterly forgettable. WellTHIS is not forgettable, its just the way its SUPPOSED to be done. So other restaurants take some notesyoull need them. This was like French toast with the lightest most delicious syrup youve even had. I knocked the ice cream right off, didnt need it. I was stuffed and I still ate a TON of this and it was SO worth it! I could see us sitting outside having just bread pudding on a fall evening on their patio. Oh my gosh we WILL be back, excellent experience!
