Hard to go wrong – Always Good. Macaroni Grill is a chain restaurant that does it right. I like the Italian trattoria format. It’s an informal setting where you pour your own house wine. The server writes their name in crayon on the butcher paper. The decor is very inviting and well done. I have never had a bad meal. My go to is Penne Rustic minus the shrimp. Tonight I had the pepper flavored Polo Caprese. My daughters had Carmela’s Chicken and Mushroom Ravolio. Both were very good. I really like Macaroni Grill.
Monster Black Dust. The moment you enter this Frisco location your greeted with beautiful stone arches that are covered in big black long flowing dust that travels surely to the cooks station near by. However, clearly there is an issue as every air vent is also covered with mounds of dust. When I go out to eat I never want to think about cleaning or even remotely question the contents of my food.
This place was absolutely horrible. They have children running around the place and where you’re seated. The service was EXTREMELY slow! Our waitress forgot one of our dishes when she served us so that took another 10 minutes, while all of us had to wait to eat. By that time our food was cold, they used WAY to much sauce, and of course the entree was unappetizing. I would advise anyone and everyone to take your money elsewhere. I would never eat here again even if it was free
The spinach and scallop salad is great.
It’s okay for a chain. We like their bread, and we like that you can call ahead to get on the waiting list. We like that when it’s really busy, they provide appetizers to people who are waiting. The salads are pretty good, too. But for us, the main courses are not that good. The pasta every time we have tried it was way, way, way overcooked, especially the angel hair. Also, the tomato sauce wasn’t too impressive. For an Italian chain, it’s definitely better than Olive Garden (ick, ick, ick), but it is not what I would call great.
One of our standbys. We frequently eat here. The menu changes, there is lots of variety and the food is always nicely prepared. I had penne rustica and my husband had the pecan crusted sole. All very good and I had the leftovers for lunch the next day. Almost as good the second time out.
I HATED It!!! This is the worst excuse for Italian cuisine I’ve ever had in my life. It sucked, it sucked, it sucked….
