Good food lackluster service. Waitstaff seemed clueless and slow.
I love this place. Very quaint and relaxing. The Country French is my favorite sandwich! So fresh and delicious. It’s a little confusing when you first walk in – I’m never sure if I’m supposed to sit down first to be waited on or if I’m supposed to order at the front desk. But the food is excellent and fresh.
Great omelette and the coffee is awesome. They could stand to add one more waiter/waitress on the weekends. I’ll definitely be back to try the lunch menu!!

I can’t say anything about the food because we were never waited on. Absolutely the worst service I have ever encountered. Five tables were not cleaned off, we had to ask to have one cleared. Someone ordering take out gave us a menu, then we waited 10 minutes hoping someone would notice us. Then we just got up and walked out. The restroom was filthy also. Horrible place with what looked like overpriced food. Avoid-Avoid-Avoid!!!
I’ve had my qualms with the ‘customer service’ aspect of this place for quite some time. If a manager is not on duty, the staff is disorganized and lazy. Plus the brownies are stale/hard and the cakes taste as if they’ve been left in a refrigerator for several weeks. Sorry Essence House, but you’re slacking. I am officially a dissatisfied customer
Great Food and Super Service. The sandwiches are amazing. I tried the roast beef. It was so fresh and the bread was incredible. Even better are the breakfasts though. My family and I have made weekend brunch at Essence a habit. Twice now, I have eaten at the restaurant in the morning and ordered a sandwich to go for lunch!
