  Chinese and Asian restaurants are not difficult to find. We have a very large number from which to choose and I have found several noteworthy independent Asian food establishments in the Houston area. But we also have some good chain restaurants and one I have tried and liked is Mama Fus Asian House, now located in Katy, TX.Mama Fus features a quick serve operation. You order at the counter and then wait for the preparation. You can watch the cooks prepare the food behind the counter and it doesnt take too long for it to be served. Its faster than a sit- down restaurant and good when you need to get your food in reasonable time. With Mama Fus, you can order your food to go or dine inside. The interior atmosphere falls somewhere between that of a full service Chinese restaurant and a carryout Chinese restaurant. It has elements of both, which coincides with the food quality and the speed of service. Everything seems to strike a middle ground here, making it a good choice when you want your Chinese food a notch or two above, say, Panda Express but dont want to wait a long time to get your food served. The presentation of the food served here is nice, very much in line with that of a full service restaurant. And the food quality is generally good and very fair for the prices. Pad Thai Chicken good and I liked the other foods- all tasted fresh and well- seasoned. One issue we had, however, is with the small size of some of the appetizers. The Potstickers for example, while good tasting, are too small even for an appetizer. Two potstickers just isnt enough and unless youre the only one eating them, many who order this will be tempted to order one more plate.Mama Fus serves beer and wine, with a larger selection than expected for a place this size. The adult beverages are selected to match the food and we found some good wines to complement the Chinese meals. A wider beer selection would be nice, but in this instance, I cant really fault mama Fus for offering only a few beers, since only a small number would match up with the food offerings. Oh, and I should make special mention of the specialty iced teas. They have multiple, delicious flavors, and all are self- serve so you can get more if you like.Chinese food is a staple in my household and Mama Fus turned out to be a good place for this type of cuisine.
