Owner operated, delicious in home-cooked, old world, Eastern European kinda way. Menu is short (four items) but we had one of each and everything tasted fresh. Sounds like the entries vary, except the classic schnitzel. The location is very rustic and low key. The prices are great and probably haven’t changed in 20yrs.The builder/owner/chef came out and we had a lovely chat.Beware of the schedule though, and call ahead. They close in summer months and other random times of year. Also, I’m rating them high for what they are, step off the US road into a small town Czech/Slovakian restaurant. If you’re a food snob and looking for fine plating, and other bells and whistles it’s not that kinda place for sure.
Girlfriend and I were visiting Galveston and saw this place had rave reviews so we decided to have dinner. The place is small and quaint. Only 4-5 menu items but the food was fantastic. I had weiner schnitzel and she had bourbon chicken. Generous portions, friendly staff, and great prices! Fun date spot! We’ll be back!

European food. Excellent food and service. Friendly staff. I think the menu changes daily. We had German Sausage and Wiener Schnitzel. Finished off with a slice of Pistachio cake. We had red cabbage, sauerkraut, potato salad and a house salad. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back next time we visit Galveston.

By far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time! The owner came to our table, with fresh bread he baked which was delicious! After that he brought out a salad with dressing made fresh that was to die for, very sweet! He continued to bring different things to taste. He never brought Anything that wasn’t delicious! My favorite was the potato salad (best I’ve had besides my own ;)) bit the schnitzel was the perfectly breaded, crispy, the meat was moist….I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best dining experience I’ve EVEr had!! The atmosphere is hard to beat with an outside courtyard. The only unfortunate thing was that we came too early and had too long a drive home to stay for the drum circle every Friday night
Off the beaten path (not a high tourist place-locals). German style homecooking. Friendly/family feel (like your at a friend’s house). Interesting outdoor architecture and indoor wall decor. No regular menu, just whatever they decide to put together they scrawl the menu in a chalkboard. Limited hours. I see myself a regular here and I’m definitely bringing my Dad sometime.
