The service was fair. The patio and view is the best thing about this place. My gumbo was too thick, cold, odd flavor, and only had one pathetic mini shrimp. My fish was super salty.
Let’s just say that locals don’t go here. Over priced menu, questionably fresh food, and weak drinks. There’s no question about the view though, of course any place on the seawall is gonna have that view.
This is a full on tourist trap restaurant. Everything is way overpriced. The food is good. The shrimp kisses are probably the best thing on the menu. I tried the touffe once and it was also pretty good. We went one afternoon after getting off the beach and had some daiquiris and pia coladas and they were nothing special. It’s in a great location and has a nice patio, t I’d suggest eating here for dinner if anything or you’ll be having one expensive lunch.
The food is just okay for me. The drinks were not weak. You will wait in line to be seated if you do not have reservations. But that should be common sense; it is across from Pleasure Pier.
Get the TILAPIA AND CRAB STUFF POBLANO! If you want a fine dining experience while in Galveston, this is the place to go. I ate outside in the evening during the fall season, and it was the perfect weather. I went with Aleshea Dominique while we were exploring the city during a conference. oldworldnew.us
The best part was Shannon attempting to rectify my dinner experience. The first time around the soup was cold, the fries stale and tasteless, and service was horrible. Shannon, not sure of her position-manager, perhaps, noticed I was disappointed and quickly came over. My second soup was MUCH better and she brought me out fresh fries and a fresh poor boy. She also spoke with our waitress who suddenly started refilling our waters. Thank you Shannon. I’ll give you’ll a second try next time I’m in town.
3 hours. Never got our crab. Got our appetizers AFTER we ate and only because we had to complain. 6 oysters instead of a dozen. Worst service that I can remember.
