What can I say? I should of listened to some of the reviews but since it’s Monday and Sapori was closed, and hubby wanted Italian, we decided to give it a shot. By the way, Sapori has some great reviews and you can take your own wine, how cool is that. Next time we will wait until they are open for business instead of jumping the gun. Anyway, we both ordered pasta dishes. My Lasagna, meat sauce was watery, it looked like it was poured out of a can and not cooked down or thickened. I make a much better sauce, guess I should have, LOL. The ground meat wasn’t browned, it looked gray and mushy. The lasagna didn’t even looked layered, like it should look. It had some ricotta, mushy meat, yes noodles and topped with who knows what kind of cheese. It tasted like I would imagine frozen lasagna would. OMG the garlic bread was old and soft, not even toasted, Yuck. I laughed with my husband going to our condo about the Garlic Bread, It was horrible. Why even go on, you get the point! We will never go back. We are here in Galveston for another 8 months and will never even try there pizza now. I’m done with Gino’s. Please listen to the reviewers and stay away from this place, you will thank me later. (winks) My 1 stars goes to the waitress, she was on time and very pleasant. Gino’s itself gets ZERO Star from us.
We thought this place was great. Everything tasted homemade, and if it wasn’t, they fooled us pretty damn good. I don’t even like Italian food that much, and it was great. Tomato sauce was tomato-y and garlic-y but rich, and the alfredo was rich without being heavy. Definitely worth a try – would like to have some pizza and desserts! Place was hopping with to-go orders.
We always get the Special pizza. Large and gives us great leftovers.
Liked it. Big portions. Spaghetti & meatballs were tasty as was the pizza. Very courteous staff. Would go again!
It was good. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, everything was as it should be. My wife had the baked zitti. Just good traditional pizzaria fare done right. We would definitely eat again.
OMG!!! My husband and I visited Gino’s for the first time tonight & loved it! Our entres were delicious & generous portions. We both ordered dessert…my lemon cake was sooo good. It melted in my mouth & had a light, smoothe flavor with every bite.
Best authentic pizza in the bay area.
