Fairly average Mexican restaurant. We ordered the shrimp enchiladas and the shrimp Tex-mex enchiladas… well, sort of. The waitress got my order completely wrong as I ordered chicken enchiladas and got shrimp Tex mex, but I was wanting to try something new (I guess) so I didn’t mind.Both contained good quality shrimp (if you’ve had CHEAP shrimp you know what I mean) and were mildly flavorful – certainly not flavor-bursting. Aside from a LOT of cheese on the non Tex Mex version both dishes were close to bland-ish.The salsa from the chips and salsa was a thin, warm, soupy salsa making it tough to get much of on the chips. We WILL be back for the fajitas as they made the entire restaurant smell awesome when a table across the way was served. Sure THAT would have flavor to match the smell… We hope.
This is a bright happy, small, cozy place. Eating here will give you an extra hour of sunshine in your life. Fajitas de pollo a la Mexicana had smoky char-grilled chicken and jalapeos. Wash it down with a Modelo with a lime. Fish tacos very tasty. Salsas are fresh and the salsa verde has some heat. Carne asada is prolly the best thing I’ve had. Service not incredible but go for the experience and you will be in a happy food coma when you leave.
