Loaded Potato. This is what potatoes want to be when they grow up.
Frgg. First of all we are 3 at my house and every time we go eat somewhere we qualify everything on the scale from 1-10, Im (We aren’t)) not a bbq connoisseur but we really know when we like something or not, for this particular case we were looking for bbq and I decided to search the internet for the best places of bbq in Houston and I found this site for the best 50 places for bbq in Texas http://www.texasmonthly.com/li… and decided to go Galveston, TX & tryLeon’s World’s Finest In & Out Bar-B-QueWow…Leon’s gotta be a great place to eat and might not be the #1 but at least is in between the 50’s and being at #20 this has to be one of our greatest bbq experiences ever, when we arrive to the place this does not look like a fancy place at all but sure the smell from the outside is great, once making the line to place our order finally we decided to eat in and take some to go, we seated at a small table and the waiter came, she looked at us rolling the eyes like tired of working or inpatient of the new unexperienced bbq new customers ( I usually take action right away and will make a big deal about it but I decided to let it go this time) but some other customer came after us and I heard them asking the same stupid questions as we did and this time the waiter sounded really nice. Any way, I ordered a North Carolina sandwich, my wife ordered the two meat plate and my daughter ordered the brisket & ribs sandwich with a couple of sides of bbq beans & potato salad & a plate of three meats to go ( ribs, brisket & sausage) & as I said we qualify always from 1-10 and the results were unanimous and are as follows:1- Service from waiter– 42-Brisket– 7 (too dry and not enough flavor)3-Ribs —- 7 ( no flavor, but really tender)4-Sausage 85- Bbq beans – 96- Potato salad —- 97- N Carolina sandwich —- 88- Serving Size—- 109- Price — 10To conclude, I really don’t know what is the base to qualify a place in the Best 50 BBQ places in Texas is but sure this is not one of them at all, our unanimous rating is just below 8 but since we don’t really use less than complete numbers we decided to give it a just a blunt 8
Tiny hole in the wall-almost drove by it! But, very good brisket, fabulous BBQ beans and great cornbread! We will be back!
Great tasting BBQ worth a try.
It was ok..No fried okra, out of cornbread,..brisket was not hot…been there won’t go back!!!
This is my favorite kind of place. You know when you get close to Leon’s by the aroma. Leon’s is a little hole in the wall, clean and the staff is super friendly. Do not order the 3 meat platter unless you are very hungry or plan on leftovers.
Best smoked sausage I’ve ever had. Super friendly staff and big portions.
