We are visiting Galveston for Thanksgiving holiday. After reading reviews, I have selected 7 restaurants for the seven nights we’d be spending in Galveston. I have made reservations for all. We ate at Number 13 at the first evening. We enjoyed the ambience (except for a loud and obnoxious woman at the table next to us, totally out of restaurant’s control, she increased the acidity of our stomachs for a good while before we could take a deep breath when she left. Peace took over the restaurant, literally). The servers were on time, attentive (but not pushy and not trying to rush us out of the restaurant), polite, and knowledgeable. We ordered a variety of fish and all of them were made to perfection. We ordered two side dishes and both tasted out of this world. The wine list was extensive and our glases of red and white wines were lovely. They had a full bar too.I could see the owner or manager (someone in charger) constantly keeping an eye on the floor to oversee things making sure everyone was taken care of.It was Sunday evening and more than half of the tables were empty. Our server asked us whether we liked bread before dinner or not (suggested to me this did not come automatically). I did say yes, but we were never served bread. Also before the desserts were served, my father accidentally poured a glass of water on the table. We used all of our napkins to dry the table. When serving the dessert, the server could not have possibly missed a pile of wet napkins at one corner of the table. Yet she did not offer us fresh napkins. These were the two reasons I took a star away.Overall the food is pricey especially because it does not come with any sides and you do need to order the sides separately. But the sides are large and family style and the table can share. I do recommend this restaurant and next time I come to Galveston, will go back again. I’d be just more outspoken about my bread and fresh napkins or would not pay 20% tip like I did this time!!

We went here here for apps and dinner one evening.the food was great and the service as well. It has a great view of the marina and decent location in Galveston, kinda out of the way. The shrimp app we had gotten was one of my favorite dishes, I wanna say it was a garlic shrimp bruschetta. We also had a mixed cocktail dip, it was also delicious. For dinner I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and had great sides and presentation. The only complaint I have about the place is the price of the drinks. Way way way overpriced. For a glass of knobb creek on the rocks was $17, usually it’s $7 to $10 max! The mixed cocktails we had were good as well but way to expensive. The food is moderately priced for fine dining though. I’ll be going back here again, great place and setting for a nice night out in Galveston.

Need to Put Out Better Food. Had a great lunch there when they first opened. Went for dinner and was disappointed. Tried the water buffalo and it was too tough to eat. I tried, believe me. The dog loved the leftovers. Service good. Fried oyster appetizer was terrific. Husband’s steak was so-so. Surprised to get just an okay dinner for a fine dining establishment. The atmosphere of the place makes up for some of the mediocre food. Nice staff.

Excellent. The food lives up to the promise of the menu. The staff understand the complex recipes and were able to translate the menu and give a history of the dishes. The beef could be seen aging behind the extensive wall of wines. The Chef has travelled the world and is serving the best Yorkshire Puddings outside the UK as bread rolls. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. Thank you Chef and whoever trained the foor staff.

While the restaurant is beautiful & service was excellent, the food was so-so. We went for lunch & had their specialty burger and it was good but not great. The one thing that turned us completely off was their ketchup – it had a very strange taste (almost cinnamon tasting). I’m sure for a nice dinner this will be a great place to dine but very pricey!!!! We’ll try it again but stick with seafood.
