This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Galveston! Any time I get down to Galveston (2X a month) I try to make it to Porch. Truly sensational!!! Not sure how this ended up with this low score … especially since all the written reviews are awesome!
Wow! We have been here for brunch but this was our for time for dinner the apps (tenderloin wrapped asparagus and the seafood fondue) were really good. But the the main courses (blackened pork ribeye and grilled snapper with a lemon basil cream were truly amazing. The pork was moist and tender. The seasoning was perfect and the corn maque choux/potatoes were great. My snapper ( skin on ) was expertly grilled served on top of grits with a basil cream. We had the dessert trio which consisted of Apple beignets, flourless chocolate cake and blueberry bread pudding. Yes, yes, yes!!!
Crawfish Beignet. Great food, service and ambience.
Had a great dinner here. Romantic spot with the wife. Food was excellent, service was great. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.
Delightful patio/porch experience. Attentive service. Had the shrimp poor boy. Excellent flavor, but hard to eat. Just too big to cram in your mouth, so we ate it in pieces and licked the plate. Very nice venue. Would be excellent for graduation luncheon or ladies group because of the ambiance. Give it a try.
Excellent food with good service and dining atmosphere. The patio is really well done and an incredibly relaxing and scenic place to have a delicious , fresh lunch in Galveston. We really enjoyed the deviled eggs with the sriracha vinaigrette, poboy sandwich and Brussels sprout salad. They were also very accommodating for special dietary requirements. Would definitely eat here again.
Excellent food, service, atmosphere & views of Galveston’s East Beach. Casual, gourmet beach dining. Sunday brunch 9am-3pm $8-12, lunch 11:30am-3pm Th-Sat $12-$15, dinner $28+. Patio or interior seating. Decent wine list. From burgers, sandwiches, salads & pizzas to small plate appetizers like boudin-stuffed jalapeo, seafood au gratin, and tenderloin-wrapped asparagus, and larger portions such as Waygu beef tenderloin and pumpkin seed crusted snapper. For Sunday brunch try the rum raisin French toast or fried chicken & waffle. The Porch Cafe definitely fills a long-needed niche on the east end.
