My boyfriend and I desperately wanted some good seafood while in Galveston and this place delivered! I ordered the five shrimp dinner and could instantly tell it was fresh. The cole slaw and fries were also delicious!
Catfish and stuffed shrimp plate was my choice today, and I was very pleased. All food is prepared to order, and was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Catfish was fresh, tender, and the cornmeal crust was well-seasoned without being overly salty. Stuffed shrimp were tasty. Crab balls were a little fishy and gooey though. Menu options other than deep fried are pretty limited. txpitquest.com
Tried shrimp 3 different ways. Shrimp kisses were tasty. But catfish was best. Big flaky filets. Enjoyed a quick, no frills seafood bite on the way to high school football game.
Love this place. We got there when it unlock at 10:00, and it was a great thing we did. The crowds came shortly after, and it’s no surprise.
Excellent food and inexpensive. Varied menu with a kids menu as well as an adult. Fresh ingredients and well prepared. Spot on with most of the other reviews here in this general type of restaurant.
Love this place. We got there when it opened at 10:30, and it was a good thing we did. The crowds came shortly after, and it’s no surprise. The oysters, are devine! Plentiful and perfectly cooked in the cornmeal batter…and an abundance of them. Those, I could eat every day. I will say, the one little thing I don’t care for is the shrimp. They are cooked perfectly, but they always taste a bit idione-ish. Not sure if it’s farm raised or fresh caught out of galveston, but that’s just my opinion. But, the oyster poboy was spilling of about a dozen oysters. Just awesome. We have referred numerous people here when they go down to the area. It’s a for sure stop for us!!
Yummy food and friendly service!! The gumbo and friend catfish were delicious! The hush puppies were excellent as well. The fries were just okay (not homemade), but everything else was perfect!
