The food is ehh…but their spicy dishes are spicy which is a small plus. Our waiter was good, but the hostess was a bit aloof and bothered by us and others entering the restaurant, when her job is to greet folks. Anyhow I’m all about first impressions and I don’t plan on returning.
Awful Experience. Wait for drinks, food, bill was forever. Food arrived cold and was just slapped together. The waiter was seating people, delivering drinks and food, busing his own tables and generally running ragged. Obviously this place needs better management. We will not be returning.
Great food. I went with the spicy General Fu with brown rice and a side of crab rangoon. My wife had hot and sour soup that is nice and rich and not too spicy. Our server Brandon and a lot of tables but was super helpful and took time going over menu with us.
Disapointing. I ate here on the recomendation of a friend. Yuck. This is basically another version of Pei Wei if you have ever eaten there … only Pei Wei (which itself is not great) does it much better. I ordered the veggie egg rolls. The sweet chilli sauce was good, but the egg rolls were slightly soggy, greasy, and just generally not very good. My entree was the veggie pad thai. The vegetables must have barely been stir fried, as they were very hard and under cooked. The tofu, on the other hand, was very overcooked leaving it with a stiff, cardboard like texture. Not only the texture of the tofu was off, but it was completely flavorless. The dish was just overall uninspired and missing the mark, the flavors too sweet and not very authentic. I won’t be back.
Not really authentic but still quite tasty. Love the Thai Basil dish….spicy but just right.
Not good, poor value. I ate there today because I had a coupon for a big discount. I’d eaten there a few times a couple of years ago. I remembered today why I stopped going there. It’s NOT good! At least I didn’t have to pay full price for it. Bland, bad aftertaste.
Wannabe asian food. I ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer. They brought out their version of a Vietnamese style roll. Not even close, the dipping sauce even sucked. The roll was too chewy as if they made the roll in the morning and the rice paper stiffened. My friend ate one bite and that was it. Because I am a pig for food I ate it just because. Then I order a soooo called Pho soup. I have never eaten a soup even close. I was not happy. The broth was sweet and the meet was not thinly sliced. The side was a little thing of chili sauce but no fresh basil or japepeno slices. To sum it up, if you want something that tastes good, look up a true Vietnamese Restaurant in Austin, most all have Pho in their name. Don’t waste your money at Mama FU’s1
