Roots-Need to get back to basics. Was really excited to try this new place but what a let down. There aren’t any servers so you have to get up and go to the counter when you want another beer. They sure don’t make it easy to spend your money. Food is bland and over priced. I don’t go out often so when I do, I would like a nice experience. Have had better customer service at McDonalds. Too many places out there to waste your time and money.
Great Changes, Great Food!. Finally someone is doing something incredibly right on the Square in downtown Georgetown. I have lived here for 29 years, and seen many come and go, but this one should stay! Now that the bistro is under new management and a new name (Roots), the bistro experience has gone from good to great. The space is now open and inviting, the decor is pleasing, and the pizza and sandwiches have never been better!
Two Thumbs Up!!. I don’t live in the Austin area, but whenever I come visit family I always stop in Georgetown at Down The Alley for the Italian Grinder, or the Round Top Sirloin with Blue Cheese.. YUM!! My new favorite is the Chicken Salad Sandwich, It’s definitely worth it give it a try! The new atmosphere and look of the bistro is cozy, relaxing and makes for a nice little hang out place. Will definitely come back!
Best Lunch in Gtown!!!. Definitely my favorite lunch spot in Gtown! How can you go wrong here, with yum food in an artsy and fun atmosphere? The bistro features an extensive menu including favorites like Panini and Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, a huge selection of salads, pizza and a delicious selection of desserts! This place is the heartbeat of the downtown square, bring your laptop for the free WIFI or just hang and enjoy the friendly gatherings happening all day long. Bonus: Don’t miss the amazing art adorned on the bistro walls and the adorable adjoining boutique!
A MUST TRY!!!. I love to go hang out here! Great atmosphere, fun people, good food! A fun place to chill for lunch, 1st Fridays are always fun. The Bistro holds many great events and there’s a fun shop to visit, as well! Amore’ Boutique! Just all around great place!
A fantastic spot on the square. The sandwiches are the absolute best. My favs are the Tuscan Turkey and the Reuben. One of the most comfortable places to relax with friends. LouAnne is a great hostess!
