Outstanding. Dinner for four, everything exceptional. Cutesy names on the menu belie the serious attention to materials and preparation. We ordered osso buco, beef Rossini, Cornish hen, and trout, which was a special chef’s offering since the snapper was out. Ample portions and well balanced accoutrements. Expensive, yes, but well worth it. Looking forward to our next visit to Georgetown!
A mixed bag. Good food but pricey. This is a hard one for me. We tried their 5 – course tasting menu., with a half glass of wine matched with each courseThe pros: good service from our server. Food was good, one dish, the lamb, was outstanding. Lovely presentation.,The cons: the cost–we did a similar tasting at the Carillon in Austin in November, and it was better and less expensive. 2 the portion size–way too big for a tasting,dinner; we were stuffed by the,third,courses even eating lightly. The wine–again, too much. They were not really small pours. It is my fault if I over-indulge, of course but still smaller portions are more pleasant.3. The courses,were heavy on meat and light on vegetables. In a farm-to-table restaurant, I like some,fresh produce dishes. So, overall, I would try The Hollow but pick my own menu. The atmosphere is cute and sophisticated and you can go there for a special evening out.
Food and service is outstanding! Chef is a master at blending spices with each dish. Beet soup, trout, pork, tartar, mussels, to name a few, are wonderful. Wish I could eat there every night!!
Amazing food! Great place for Georgetown. The wine, soup, and crab salad I had was amazing. I had lunch and dinner in one day there. Definitely my new favorite place.
Awesome Experience. Serendipity led us to The Hollow the first night. We had no choice but to return on the second. Mirthful menu entertained us but failed to camouflage the sophisticated preparations of the day’s best offerings. The duck was divine. Goat cheese layered with beets one night, served with fresh figs the next. Engaged wait staff pulled it all together. We have no reservations about recommending this really fine restaurant.
Holy cow! This place is amazing and delicious – and I’m super picky. Trout and crab cakes yum! And reasonable prices, can’t wait to come back, everything on the menu sounded great and it was a difficult choice. I agree with earlier review that the food ranks right up there with NYC fine dining.
