Amazing! So fortunate to have this establishment in Georgetown. The chef masterfully creates some of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Love the ambiance and the locally sourced ingredients.
They have just reopened after being closed for a couple of months so be forewarned that there isn’t a liquor license yet. They served a complimentary whiskey punch that was very good but I’m not a whiskey drinker – even tho the punch was good we ran across the square and bought wine from Grape Creek. About half our group went the wine route, the other half the punch. They have also changed their menu to small plates and recommend getting 2-3 plates. The food was good, I can’t say I can call it the BEST food I’ve ever had but it mostly comes down to my personal taste. The corn crepes were very good, loved the lavender ice cream. My issue is the sweetbread on the menu. Apparently I’m the only one in the world that doesn’t know that this is the thymus. So my bad. I take responsibility for ordering something without knowing what it was. I didn’t send it back, I didn’t say anything to the waiter except that I didn’t realize what it was, the rest of our party ate it and said it was freaking fantastic. I had already ordered the oxtail at that point so the waiter left. He came back a few minutes later and VERY condescendingly said that he noticed I ordered the oxtail and he and the chef wanted to make sure I knew that it was actually the tail. He again left after I assured him I’ve had it before and left the table of 10 people with their mouths open. I was totally embarrassed and would have walked out right then if I could have. It was a birthday celebration so I didn’t say anything to a manager but our table started talking about it. Apparently another waiter heard and told him, then he came back out and apologized. The damage was already done. I would not have left him a tip if it were up to me. And I sure as heck will never go back and I would not recommend the place to anyone unless you like snooty waiters.
