Pretty darn good and inexpensive too. Usually go there with coworkers on Wednesday for enchilada special food is good, hot, service is great, quick, and we have a good time.
Awesome chili. Ur family wishes other mexican restaraunts could serve as good a chili as el fenix. joe t’s and el chicos cannothold a candle to elfenix chili. we are always disappointed in other mexican cuisine, becausetheir chili does not measure up. sometimes i justorder a bowl of their chili, which is absolutely the best.
There Are No Winners Here. (Grapevine, TX) This is where my coworkers and I used to go after work for camaraderie and to have a bite to eat. We had gone there more than a half a dozen times because it was convenient to DFW Airport and no one really complained about it. I secretly did not like El Fenix at all, but unfortunately held my tongue to appease the group. I normally ordered the chicken enchiladas, or the sour cream enchiladas with chicken. It is not that the food tasted bad or that anyone got sick, it’s just that the food was bland and had no flavor whatsoever. I’ve had their tamales in the past with the same results. One of my friends recommended the Crazy Nachos. I did and admit that they were better than the other entrees I have had there. Service had always been good. I don’t remember ever having any problems with receiving refills of drink, rudeness , inattentiveness, or witnessing the general malaise.in any of the servers. Nevertheless, my co-workers and I no longer meet at El Fenix for get-togethers anymore. While we are still friends, I think we just became fed up with the food at El Fenix.
We went here while visiting the area. The service was fast and the cokes were refilled fast. The food was good and there was lots of it. We had a birthday celebrated and they brought a soppipillo with strawberries. We passed around the hat they brought out and it was goofy but fun. The kids liked it.
Not a good location. Count me in as a fan of the Mexican food institution known as El Fenix. The locations on Forest & Webb Chapel, Hillcrest (by Northpark Mall) and the legendary downtown Dallas original are all great. But this location doesn’t match the others. The place is plagued by poor service and cooking. The same recipes come out cold and lame. It’s sterile. It lacks everything that makes the older places shine. regularjoesguide.blogspot.com
El Fenix is just plain bad. You would get a better tasting meal at taco bell. With so many choices in the Dallas area I dont know why anyone would waste their hard earned money on El Fenix.
