Great atmosphere, food was 4.5/5. Some of it sounded better than it actually was. Service was pretty slow the day we went, but it’s still definitely worth a visit. In this area are 3 other really nice restaurants, with a little park in the middle.
Really great food! This place reminds me a lot of Grimaldi’s Pizza with the large family style portions and wood-fired pizza with one exception. Everything that we had was absolutely fantastic! From the kids cheese pizza to a tomato-laden pizza. The four cheese salad was absolutely scrumptious! And go for the brownie sundae…a bit crunchy in parts but amazing tasting! Loved this place and plan to go back!

The location of the restaurant was nice, but the seating arrangements were a little uncomfortable. It was a long row of booths too close together for my date, who was in a dress, to climb into. The wait staff was good, but sometimes not attentive to our needs. I ordered the basic pepperoni pizza and the mozzarella cheese had a weird flavor (it tasted like feet) that wasn’t to my liking. My date ordered the North Beach pizza and she enjoyed it very much. It wasn’t too heavy or rich, which was a plus. The pricing was a little high for the menu options. The average 12” pizza was around $14. We will probably not return for a second dinner date.
Fired Up. As we entered Fireside Pies, I reflected on my last visit to the one in Fort Worth. It was a pleasant experience, and I was fired up in anticipation that this one in Grapevine would be equally up to the task. It did not disappoint. What can you say about all fresh ingredients baked on a delicious thin crust other than WOW! We had three pies, the daily special which was tomatillo with chicken and sweet onions; the Triple Roni, pepperoni and mozzarella with basil leaves and truffle oil; and Hot ‘N’ Crumbled, some spicy crumbled sausage spattered with garlic ricotta, topped with diced tomatoes. Having tasted all three, I liked all of them. The tomatillo pie was surprisingly piquant. The lemony flavor due to the tomatillo base was very different and unexpected in a positive way. I found that the more I ate, the more I was pleased with the pizza. The interior crust was soft and juicy, almost as if the crust was non-existent. Once you reached the outer crust, it was dry, airy and had a great crunchy snap, like that of a good dry pretzel. It was like the best of both worlds. I had a slice of each of the other pies which were equally good. The Triple Roni had this amazingly fresh pepperoni which stood out among the rest of the flavors of the pie. The Hot ‘N’ Crumbled was also good. While the sausage was spicy, I wouldn’t be afraid to try it if you are adverse to spicy foods. This was mildly spicy at best, but still worthwhile. We split the blueberry salad among us three at the start of the meal. I think I would have liked to even had it served after the pizza as a palate cleanser. The fresh flavor of the spring blueberries was spread throughout as a vinaigrette and sprinkled on top of the salad as well. It was such a refreshing welcome of the bounties of spring and summer. You should know that having arrived a bit after six on Saturday during Grapevine’s Main Street Days did not deter us from being immediately seated. Not too long afterward a line began forming. There was more than ample parking. If you do have to wait, there is a nice area to sit and relax outside. They have a lovely bar too, if you care to wait indoors. We had no complaints. Our server was professional and was able to answer all of our questions about the specials and took care of boxing our leftovers. The atmosphere was cheery and there were a few flatscreens included to entertain those dining alone. We all had a great time. Great atmosphere, great food, among great friends. We were definitely fired up for pizza yesterday. Fireside Pies provided the perfect answer.
Great service, very nice restaurant setting, atmosphere and location, but the deal breaker that will keep us from a return visit was the food. It’s good, but it’s over-priced, and I can find good pizza for much less money elsewhere.
Never disappointed when we eat here. The cheese salad, outstanding!! The crostini, heavenly!! The Burrata mozzarella pie is TOPS! Exceptional food, consistent every time. Love this place!
