Tasty food but poor service, undercooked eggs and FILTHY cups and plates. We went on a Sunday and waited about 15 minutes (which is not too bad for a weekend). We ordered a Dutch baby to share which the waitress forgot and it was brought to another table, so we had to wait for another one to be made. One of our waters and one of our coffees had coffee grinds floating in them. My drink looked like it had a small piece of paper floating in it which I sadly only realized after drinking half of it. The pancakes and bacon were tasty but they brought scrambled eggs instead of over easy and the scrambled eggs weren’t even cooked all the way…yum food poisoning anyone?We asked for 3 extra plates to share a food item and clearly they don’t clean anything during their busy times because only the top plate looked clean. The second plate had runny uncooked egg yolk stuck to it and the last one in the stack had 2-3 tablespoons of some sort of yellow oil or butter all over it. It’s a shame the place is so disgustingly unsanitary because all of the food (minus the undercooked eggs of course) was actually quite yummy. I’m just not sure tasty pancakes are worth possible food poisoning and bacteria from the previous customers’ dirty dishware. :/

Too crowded to wait inside so waited on the bench provided right outside the door, along with other patrons. We waited about 20 min before returning to hostess station to see where we were on the list. We were told we had been called and didn’t respond. We said we were just outside the door. They said they came out to call us. They did not. We noticed ‘certain’ people walk in and get seated immediately. This is not a one time experience, has happened before. Will not be back. Will continue to go to Old West which has better food & prices and does not discriminate by seating ‘certain’ people ahead of others.
Pretty good. I’m a little surprised by all of the bad reviews. I’ve gone here several times, I’ve always had the opposite experience as everyone else. I usually get my food pretty fast and as far as portions, I always order from the smaller portions menu but that’s always filling to me. Of course, the portions are not IHOP size, but come on, I think IHOP’s portions are a little ridiculous (I’d rather not take in a day’s worth of calories in one plate…just sayin’). I’ve always liked the pancakes, even though they are a bit on the thin size compared to IHOP but at least I don’t leave feeling like I ate enough to feed a small village.
Better Food 4 Better $$ Elsewhere. My husband and I will not be back – ever! We have lived in Grapevine since 2005 but had never visited the OPH (Original Pancake House) till this morning. Why today? We are having twins and at almost 20 weeks along in the pregnancy didn’t feel like cooking and wanted a good, wholesome, value-minded meal.We were seated, started to peruse the menu and I mentioned to my husband that OPH seemed proud of their food (due to prices) so therefore we were expecting good portion sizes and quality. I should have known from the get-go something was awry when the server brought our sweet teas…the glasses were a hair bigger than a child’s sippy cup. I ordered ham and eggs and my husband ordered eggs, sausage and 2 strips of bacon. Throughout all this, we could never see others peoples food as the waiters held the food up really high when they were being delivered. So, our food arrives and we almost dropped our jaws. HUGE round plates and the portions were maybe big enough to feed a 4th grader. My ham was not what was expected – not a good slice…just a bit thicker than 6 slices of thin sandwich meat. My husbands meal was an entire joke. He also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice (regular glass is $2.99) – the glass was smaller than our iced teas and no refills. Yes, the OJ is fresh – but it’s not squeezed by Angels – entire oranges are thrown into a commercial juicer – nothing to it. The manager came over to our table after it was delivered as the expression on our faces made it very obvious we were not happy and confused. He made no effort to explain or rectify anything – with the exception of allowing us to spend more money and order more food. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Our child’s portion sized meal cost $26.00. We could have gone to Saltgrass and had a decent lunch for that.We would have been better off going to Waffle House or IHOP – food quality, prices and service would have been much better.
Been here twice. Both times food is ok, but service is very slow. 40 minutes for food to come out is wayyy too long. Our group was so close to just walking out. Don’t come here hungry or if you have anything to do within 3 hours.

This place is best described as mediocre. The food is not good but not terrible, and the same for the service.
