Came here for quick dinner but when we saw the place, we ended up staying longer than we expected. We had drinks too. The interior concept is really nice and the food is great and good for sharing. They also have this monitor for flight schedules and status. A colleague of mine almost missed her flight. HAHAHAH

I come here every time I fly through Dallas-Fort Worth. Great food and excellent service! Get the salmon and asparagus. You won’t be disappointed!

One of My favourite seafood restaurants here. Three of us went for lunch today and a great time as usual. We had the fried shrimp for starters which was excellent. We had the shrimp gumbo for mains and the blackened fish with dirty rice. They were superb . Will visit again & again.

Good But Claustrophobic. I enjoy the Pappadeaux Seafood franchises. Usually upscale in design and decorum, this one is a bit cramped for me. First you need to know that this area was originally the basement for the old DFW train that loped to all of the terminals for about thirty years. After the new Skylink was set in place, this area became ground zero for the placement of different restaurants. Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen was one of them. On the main floor above the restaurant itself there is someone in place to answer questions and direct you to the escalator. You then descend into the caverns of the restaurant. It is quite dramatic as you take in an aerial view of the many tables below. A dark wooden bar is the main focal point and the glasses, and bottles glisten from the bright lights. Once you reach bottom, the host takes you to your table where you will be met by your server. Ours was vivacious and quite outgoing. She gave us menus and a wine list. Moments later she took our drink orders and brought them to us forthwith. I had been here before but the surroundings have changed. This is not the sports-type bar that I remember from before and is now quite formal. There are no flatscreens nor entertainment of any kind. It was nice that you could actually have a nice conversation and focus on the other party. I felt a little claustrophobic though because of the tight quarters. Looking over my shoulder there was a diner-type bar of stainless steel with swivel stools for the patrons. I liked that look as you could see the workings of the kitchen from that vantage point. Our server thought that I was upset or just plain crazy when I sprung out of my seat to take a closer look. We all had a laugh over that. A lobster tank took a prominent position behind my friend seated in a booth across from me. Throughout the meal I watched one of the lobsters attempt to climb up the side of the tank.My order of shrimp and scallop orecchiette pasta was a nice substantial portion. It was quite a load of blackened shrimp and scallops on a bed of creamy orecchiette pasta. The pasta was those small ear-shaped ones that hold the creamy white bechamel sauce so well. The asparagus was crisp. I just realize as I am typing this that the lump crab spoken of on the menu was nowhere to speak of unless it disintegrated on the way to the table from the kitchen. I saw a sliver of crab claw, but I was so deep in conversation that it did not register until now. Other than that faux pas, it was quite a delicious dish. This came with two pieces of Italian bread slathered with a butter garlic sauce. My friend had the seafood platter. It really looked enormous. Catfish, shrimp and crawfish breaded and fried looked very succulent piled upon each other. He was supposed to get a crabcake, but I don’t recall seeing one. Maybe crab is out of season. The meal wasn’t cheap, nor did I expect it to be, but I wanted what I wanted. Service was light and relaxing. She was perfect, hitting all the right notes you expect with great service. If you are here at the airport and want decent seafood, this is the place to go. Although it doesn’t match the exceptional quality of their free standing restaurants in the DFW area, it will do in a pinch.20 Nov, 2014Shrimp and Scallop Orecchiette Pasta. Creamy delectable pasta with crisp vegetables and fresh blackened shrimp and scallops. This dish was elegant.

Excellent. No one enjoys being stuck at an airport with time to kill, right? Well, that’s probably true. But when life gives you lemons, why not turn them into lemonade? There are a number of truly good restaurant options here, and Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen just might be the most substantial of them all.Our lunchtime visit found the spacious restaurant mostly empty. Service was friendly and very, very prompt. A large signboard inside the dining room features all of the flight departure times, so there is no need to wonder or worry about missing your flight. That is certainly a popular feature. Our waitress offered food and drink suggestions, which I appreciated, as the menu is extensive, and can be a bit overwhelming to a frazzled traveler. The coconut shrimp are a standout. The gumbo and shrimp touffe are also excellent, with true Cajun seasoning. Even the wedge salad was a winner. Portions are ample, without being overwhelming. After all, no one is going to want a to-go box!The atmosphere is very colorful and attractive, with high ceilings, brass and a dose of sass. More than a few TVs dot the landscape, but the sound is muted, and there is enough color and textures throughout the dining room to allow you to ignore them if that is your preference.Prices are on the high side, but, this is an airport. Our ample lunches were about $25 each, before tip.

Best Ever. So, the location I frequent the most is inside of DFW, Gate Area A. I’m guilty of scheduling layover flights here so that I can have time to eat. Every time I visit is just as good as the last. Typically, I get the fried platter, but this time I tried something new. I had the Lobster Bisque and a platter with grilled shrimp, grilled scallops and crab cake. I mimicked those slow motion commercials as you take a bite of your food savoring each mouthful. The Lobster Bisque, while it is a little pricey for soup, is worth it. There are huge chunks of lobster as opposed to most restaurants which mostly bisque. I absolutely adore their crab cakes and the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. I can’t wait until my next layover in DFW!
