Staying in town and this was a convenient option. Service was great and chips/salsa ok. Margarita was decent but way overpriced…which I could have dealt with at a hotel restaurant if it was a normal size, this was about 1/2 a real drink. Fajitas were supposed to be the best on the menu but the steak was gristle and tough. Even the convenience factor disappeared and I left wishing I had driven 5 minutes for a meal I could actually enjoy. I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I met my family in Grapevine last night before they headed back to Houston. We wanted to eat somewhere close to the hotel, so we chose the Riverwalk Cantina. They were the only restaurant open on a Thursday night at the Gaylord. My first issue was the time it took for someone to ask for our drink order once we sat down (about 10 mins). On top of that, their water was disgusting! It tasted like chlorine. I wanted to ask for a Diet Coke instead, but we did not see our waiter for the next 30 mins. We ordered queso when we first ordered our drinks. After 30 mins of waiting (and we still hadn’t even been asked our meal order), our waiter appeared with the queso. At that point we said we no longer wanted the queso and asked for the check. Instead of apologizing for the wait, our waiter still charged us $19.40 for the margarita and made an excuse about how busy they were (this was at 9 pm on a Thursday night). We counted about 8 waiters just standing around, so we didn’t buy that excuse.Needless to say, we will never be returning to The Riverwalk Cantina.
Really Bad Thank Goodness They Validated Parking. This place had wait staff falling over each other but we waited forever to get our order placed. Food was lousy except for the chips and iced tea. Caesar salad tasteless. Spanish rice dried out. Salmon covered in barbeque sauce-weird. Chili Cheese Enchiladas just tasted bad. This place needs a visit from Gordon Ramsey. With tip $80 totally not worth it. thank goodness they validated parking!!
Oh dear. If you are going to be a resort on Texas, you’d damn better be able to make some texmex. Chips were rancid, broken and cold- fajitas were less than average. I say contract with Chuys.
Expensive as hell but the food was ok. Pancakes and French toast were on the greasy side. Not bad for a hotel breakfast bar. But at $20 a plate!?!? Would not have spent $100 for breakfast for 4 if it did not come with the room. Could have had an excellent Steak and eggs at almost any other place for that price. Save your money and go to downtown Grapevine for breakfast at the bakery.
Birthday Snack. My family and I went to the Gaylord for the ICE exhibit and decided to look around we stopped off for a snack the nachos were great and the waiter, Henry, surprised my daughter for her birthday by bringing her a beautiful dessert.
Excellent Food and Customer Service. We ate here twice this week, for Thanksgiving dinner and the next morning for their all American breakfast buffet. We were quite sceptical because of seeing so many rotten reviews and even word of mouth had terrible reviews. However we gave it a shot and I’m so glad we did. The food was huge portions and absolutely excellent. The margaritas were expensive, but strong so worth it. Our waitress on Thanksgiving was so sweet and accomadating, we tipped her 25% after. The next morning we had an exceptional waiter, even for a buffet service we tipped him 20% because he deserved it. The hostesses were very sweet and smiling the entire time, even when they were slammed with business. I encourage you to give this place a shot. We were more than satisfied with this place.
