Wow I ordered the beef brisket sandwich. Probably the least amount of meat I have ever seen in a sandwich for $14.25. the bun was huge making me feel like I was getting a hardy sandwich until I opened the lid. I’ll never go back. Try cousin’s BBQ or dickys if you can make it to their DFW terminal between flights
Brisket was tough and dry. Very little flavor.Very disappointed since I heard Salt Lick was one of the best BBQ in Texas.I will not go back to Salt Lick.My friend said the Pulled pork was good.
Decent BBQ at airport prices. The brisket was sliced on the thick side, with a nice smoke ring. The bun was very thick, so I combined the meat into one sandwich half. The spicy sauce looks a little like Carolina style mustard sauce, but it has a nice gradual heat profile. It’s not crazy hot, but is a good choice. My reference point is: would I buy the sauce to give as a present? In this case, no. As someone who has had great Memphis, KC, and Texas BBQ it is average, and a better choice than a national chain.
Surprisingly good with decent service. I caught them at a slow time, so they were relatively interactive. I’ll bet with a long line it might get a little robotic. The decor is pleasant with wood picnic tables, stonework, and a large windows to see the planes. I ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich. It came on a massive pillowed bun. It was attractive, but not practical. I ate the sandwich with only the bottom bun. Still, it was very good. The meat was tender and smokey. The sauce I picked was spicy and matched perfectly. I really did enjoy it. As I was eating an employee came by and asked how my meal was. That never happens in airports. Kudos to this place.
Very good BBQ to the point of being great!. I was very surprised to find this Great.. Driftwood and Round Rock Texas joint at the DFW airport. Okay I double checked the name on line so as to not be confused with other Salt P&^t places that are all over Texas. Lo and behold this is it and the food was excellent. I had the combo with one very tasty rib, pulled pork and very nice smoked turkey. My sides were cole slaw, killer beans and potato salad. Texas BBQ is really smoked meats and so often does not include sauce. I have heard stories of resistant BBQ owners having to make sauce to appease their customers in Texas.
This was possibly the worst barbque I have ever had. Even the slaw was bad. Don’t go!!!
