I’ve been driving by the Tommy Tamale sign for three years intending to go in. Today I finally did. They serve fresh or frozen tamales. I had the fresh pork tamales. They we’re super tasty. The salsa was outstanding as well. Don’t drive by it anymore. Stop and buy some.
The best by far!. I had driven by the place every day for years and one day I decided to stop in and man I have been missing out for years. Born and raised in Hobbs New Mexico I know my tamales and I have to say Tommy’s are the best I ever had. With so many different selections, hot and ready to go you simply cant go wrong. The owners are the most amazing people you will ever meet, absolute blast to converse with and they are never wrong on their recommendations to try. Make sure to get the habanero pork, BBQ and chicken tamales and you have to pick up a bag of the homemade chips and their amazing homemade salsa!
Great Place for Tamales and Assorted Spicey Items. I’ve meant to stop at Tommy’s for months and finally got there. Being my first visit, I had to go with some Pork Tamales, which my family ate side-by-side with a store bought variety, and everyone overwhelmingly chose Tommy’s. Nothing fancy, but just a good overall Tamale, and there are plenty other types to choose from. I also selected a Raspberry Wasabi Mustard that the owner recommended I try over a Pork Roast. I placed a large Pork Roast in a slow cooker and smeared the Mustard all over it and it was wonderfully tender and flavorful. It didn’t taste sweet or spicy at all, just a really enhanced, savory flavor. I’m anxious to return and choose a few more items. diningoutdfw.com
Not Same As Fresh. Bought 1/2 doz black bean & 1/2 doz pork last week. Have been getting fresh, warm tamales from Luna’s for many years and there was no comparison. I suppose if you don’t have access to unfrozen then these might be acceptable, but I won’t be back for tamales. However, the salsa that I bought -which is made for them- was very good and I could go back just for a jar of that instead of Pace or El Paso you find at the grocery. Owners introduced themselves and were extremely courteous.
Darn Good tamales!
Best tamales on the planet!! Sold fresh or frozen large or small quantities. Several different flavors including some pretty unique ones. My favorites are the black bean, spinach feta, and poblano chicken (beware they are spicy!) Their chow chow is out of this world and i love the salsa. Their prices are very reasonable and these are truly authentic and homemade flavor. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. Get ur tamales from here, you wont regret it 🙂 they are local family owned and it’s good to support small businesses.P.S. about the same price as rosas cafe, or taco cabana, or most Mexican restaurants but much better quality!!
Love love love!! Friendly staff and the tamales are the best I’ve had in a really long time!!
