To be fair, I really wanted to go to Babes, but my coworker wanted to have a beer with his meal. And didnt want to go to far from the convention. So maybe Im just being an ass. But, this place is really in line with chilis, Applebees and any other mediocre chain restaurant you want to name. Had the chicken fried steak, and mashed potatoes. Had a side salad since there was no mac & cheese or really any other decent side. I could have had a baked potato, or sweet potato but was already having mashed potatoes. Only other sides were fries on onions rings. (Upcharge for rings). My CFS was pretty big, but the batter didnt stick the meat at all. Mashed potatoes were served in a separate dish, with no gravy. Salad was ok, but had no tomatoes, but did have pecans (????) Overall impression- they should have not spent so much money building a fake hunting lodge and used that to hire some decent chefs and have a better menu.
Meh… If you’re shopping nearby and you’re hungry, great. If not – don’t go out of your way to get here. My chicken fried steak was pretty tasty, but the boiled (steamed?) vegetables with it were overly crispy and barely warm. The smashed potatoes were more like a small pile of concrete on the side. The place is brewing their own stuff – past reviews indicated that they’d stopped for a while – and the beer is adequate. But not overly exciting. Bottom line – it’ll do. But it ain’t memorable. Keep moving along if you have the option.

I was bummed that the alleged brewery was not currently brewing beer. They had a good variety of local beers however. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Also loved that after my meal I was able to wander around Bass Pro. I would recommend for a casual night out.
