I Think They Will Break the Building’s Curse!. Recently, Little Mexico moved to the building that formally had Tony Roma’s and many other restaurants over the years. It has developed a ‘curse,’ at least in my mind. With that said, I believe that Little Mexico will be the one to break it. They are already an established restaurant and have merely moved down the road a bit.Their new place is nice. They have done a great job with all the various outside decorations – the mariachi statues are pretty cool. There is even a big mural inside of the mariachis. They have actually remodeled, unlike the Cajun place who still had decorations/fixtures that you could tell were from when the place served Chinese food.The food is still great. The only difference was that it took longer than usual. I am hoping that is only due to the change and increased traffic and that they will get it worked out soon (I went during Sunday lunch which is crowded just about anywhere).So, if you go and check it out while the place is still new, please give them a little ‘new building’ grace while they adjust.They are also one of the few restaurants that offer Lunch Specials 7 days a week.22 Jul, 2011Got the Special. On Thursday night they had a $4.99 special for the Juarez or Enchilada Dinners (I think usually $8.99/7.99). Great price for a lot of food. Good hot sauce, chips, and even a good green sauce. It’s not often 3 adults get dinner at a restaurant at night in the lower $20’s. I was told the restrooms have also been nicely remodeled.
Little Fish Taco Heaven. We have heard several good comments about this place and have each passed by it for years without ever going inside to try it out.Today was the day.The interior is okay and a little cheezy but did not match up at all with the food for us.Our service was very friendly and frequent and above average and considerate.The chips and red and green sauce were just okay for us…we have had much better other places.We chose the fish tacos and they were terrific, we both decided the best we have tried anywhere so far.Corn tortillas with a lot of grilled fish and an abundance of condiments like cabbage, cilantro, tomato, lime, rice and beans and very good avocado. The spicier extra green sauce she brought out to us was great as well.These were some awesome fish tacos and if we went back, it would be hard to get something else and not get these again.JG score of 6.5 (+3 for fish tacos, 0 for atmosphere, 0 for price, +1 for diet dr pepper, +0.5 for service, +2 for we would return)
