Favorite sushi restaurant in Longview area. My boyfriend and I love mat’su so much, we have become regulars. We always sit at the sushi bar because I don’t care to sit at the grill, and we always have a good time when we go. We usually are given the same waitress who remembers our drink and appetizer order without telling her, and the sushi chef is hilarious! He even remembers what rolls i prefer. We’ve been to the other Japanese steak houses In Longview but both agree Mat’su is the best. I could understand why some may find the restaurant itself odd but It’s just because it’s an old time mansion, actually and I love that! The only thing I’d say they need changing is more parking space, but you never have too long a wait when you arrive. I’d say it’s definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.
We drove out go Mat’su only to find that it is beyond torn up. The driveway is destroyed, the restaurant, that looks like a house, is falling apart! I’m fairly sure the place was open since it had one decorative flashing light, but we were too terrified by the outside to even try to enter. Since the rest of the reviews are at least two years ago I’m sure it hasn’t been a popular spot for awhile. AVOID.
