Hit and Miss. My son had to drag me to the Longview Olive Garden for the last weekend of Neverending Pasta, which I’d promised to take him to. Historically the worst service imaginable (unless we get Michael, who’s wonderful), long waits and food I just don’t want to eat. But lo and behold, this time it was decent. I guess because it was Saturday night and they had their A-players in the kitchen. My son had the new asiago sauce and liked it a lot. I liked the Chicken Gnocci a lot. The cheesecakes were fresh and very cold and firm. Pasta cooked correctly and sauces were unusually good. I sent the Parmesan Encrusted Tilapia back as it was bland and dry and nothing like the picture (They clearly didn’t know how to make it.), but couldn’t get enough of the grilled zuchinni and angelhair, even though I swapped the butter sauce for alfredo, and it was runny and below average quality. It was still nice and fresh, and very hard to save some to bring to Gramma, who inhaled it.My advice is to come only the weekends, make a reservation even if they say there’s no wait (There will be when you get there.), and make sure they understand before they seat you that you want their best service. Good luck.
Great atmosphere for friends and family. Always good service
We decided to give Olive Garden a second chance as our last one was terrible. We had received a gift card from that bad experience so we tried to go in with an open mind. We were seated next to a table with three horrible children banging on their plates and glasses for ten minutes. Obviously not the fault of the restaurant but was an omen of the upcoming events. Our waiter took our order and an hour later we received our food. He was very apologetic and assured us it would be on the house. Our pasta was cold and chicken tough. Salad and breadsticks seem to be the only thing they can do right. Ridiculous and we will not be going there again.
Why the hell is there a 20-30 minute wait when you have 20 open tables? Slow service is better than no service I guess…
Salad and Breadsticks. We’ve been here many times. Never a bad experience (with the food). To go portions are very generous. I try the specials alot and they are mostly delicious. Of the dozens of dishes we have had here, none were bad and most were great. It is great franchise food. Always a good selection. The salad and breadsticks here are like a Italian version of chips and hot sauce. Our only issue is the need for a room to put all the families who insist on bringing their 3-5 young children in to eat here. Any person coming inside to look would think this is a good place for a date or a romantic evening with your wife…..That is hit or miss….This place seems to attract young parents who seem blind to the fact that the noise and mayhem their kids wreak while they eat is okay with everyone. On our last visit, we sat by a young couple with a constantly crying newborn, a girl maybe 2 who somehow could talk nonstop loudly and eat at the same time and a 4 year old or so boy who stomped his feet and walked around his parents table to make them light up and they never once stopped any of this racket while couples all around looked on sadly. We left as they sat another family with 3 young babies crying next to us. Enough is enough…make a separate room for these people who have a right to eat there… but so does everyone else who try to get away from this at home for an evening out.The service is usually good and they don’t have diet dr pepper.JG score of 3 (+2 for food, -1 for atmosphere when includes screamers, +1 for food, 0 for no diet dr pepper, 0 for service, +1 for we will return but ask for somewhere out of the way and quiet)
Absolutely horrible experience for last 2 visits. Incredibly slow service. Took an hour to receive food that was all overcooked. Will never eat there again.
This is not Italian food. Way too rich and salty. They don’t eat pre-packed slurry like this in Italy.
