Dip and Chips. We live in Greenwood,Ar. so everytime my Late Mother would go visit my Aunt Betty, she would always bring back a case of salsa for my Daughtet an I. We Love it. Its the Best salsa Ever.
Tortilla Soup!. I have always enjoyed eating here because of one thing. The Tortilla soup. It tastes homemade and when I come from out of town I always try to make it there. The chips are seasoned and I love those too. I have tried other dishes too and I have honestly never ate anything that I didn’t love!
Great place to take the Family. Papacitas is a great place to take the family. no matter how busy they are youcan get in with out hardly a wait.
Hands down the nastiest tasting Mexican food I have ever tasted. The Queso tasted like watered down powdered cheese, the main entrees came to our table 4 minutes after we ordered or food AND it tasted like an El Charrito frozen food dinner. We couldn’t even choke down more than one bite. We told the waiter and he just stared at us. NEVER AGAIN.
Don’t waste your time. HelloWe went to the Papacita’s Mexican Restaurant on 04/03/2014 at 8pm. There were five of us. We were seated at a round near water fall. Are server really didn’t want to be there as you could tell. The chips were cold and hard didn’t taste fresh. We order our drinks and food. We were very clear on what we wanted . The three items that were special were two hamburgers PLAIN and DRY( simply) and chicken and beef fajitas nachos no beans with the cheese melted on the top again simple. we ordered margaritas with extra salt again simple.Fresh chip were delivered to the table and the drinks. The margaritas were not garnished the limes and when I ask about the limes .I was told that they had not limes, how does a restaurant not have limes. Well they found some limes and I was tell that these were the last two limes and they couldn’t get any because of a shipment being block in Mexican. Well that isn’t my problem Albertson is next door and sell limes and lemons. So it is just the cost of running a business. The server turned very fast and left before the only kid in the group could get a straw. When the food got there one of the hamburgers were made wrong , I know !! really !! plain and dry how hard is it, and it was the one for the youngest which make things at the table more tense.. The nachos were made wrong as well no cheese on top of the meats and the meat was tasteless no salt or peppers ,and the chicken enchiladas looked great but the chicken was old and dry .The serve never asked if everything was ok. My guess is she already knew it was not and just didn’t want to deal with it . She was more interested in cleaning up and going home.If I were to do this again I wouldn’t have picked this restaurant.. If you are going to go to this place god in the middle of the day to get fresh food and a server that could care about her table and tips.
Papacita’s salsa could be served for dessert!. I think it’s only fair to say that I would’ve rated Papacita’s lower if I were going on memory alone. Because of the excellent service today at a company lunch, I’d really like to rate them higher. But I have my reasons.Again, the service was excellent today. My glass was regularly filled and chips topped off. The server was extremely professional and friendly. (And she was quite busy.) As always, the atmosphere is among the best and cleanest in town. It’s always been that way and I ate at Papacita’s when they were on Marshall Ave. (before they moved to where Posado’s now does business). My biggest single issue with Papacita’s is the salsa (or ‘hot sauce’). I’ve had desserts that weren’t as sweet. It’s a simple fix really: offer an option without all the sugar, but with some jalapenos instead. Though it’s been years since I stepped through the doors of this restaurant before today, the salsa hasn’t changed a bit. Nor have the chile powder-seasoned chips, which are fine but nothing special in my opinion.Surprisingly, my meal today was nothing like I remember. The rice was al dente, as rice should be. The chili wasn’t overpowering. The tamales are probably the best in town (a real surprise there). And I left without a stomach ache. Wow. Still.. The salsa… There are a half-dozen places that I’d rather eat Tex-Mex at in Longview, including Little Mexico and Carlito’s. El Rincon also does a bang-up job, if you don’t mind bottoming out your car in their parking lot and cramming beside 75 other people in an old Dairy Queen. As for Papacita’s, I won’t be suggesting that my family eat there any time soon, but if we have an office gathering there, I won’t hesitate to go along.
