The Butcher Shop & Bakery makes very good pastries, cookies and treats. Folks have to use an access road to get to the eatery as it is set off the main road.Today was a morning visit to nab a couple of cupcakes for a late breakfast. It has been many years since I dined at the restaurant but frequently I have birthday cakes made at the bakery. The price is very reasonable, and the cakes are quite good.Large treat cases greet customers as they walk into the Butcher Shop & Bakery. They were full and presented a wide variety of goods to choose from, and prices are quite reasonable, under $1.50 for most cookies and around $2.50 per cupcake. And the portions are large.I ordered the Italian cream cake cupcake and a chocolate fudge cupcake. Let me give some advice, the cases keep the treats cooled, so unless you prefer them that way, allow them to come up to room temperature for best eating. The cupcakes can seem a bit hard served cold, but when they are allowed to warm up they become tender and chew quite nicely.The Italian cream cake cupcake had cream cheese icing and it is very sweet with a bit of tang which is a good compliment. The cake has pecans baked into it and the icing is dusted with cookie crumbs and more pecans. It’s very good, but I can only eat half at a time, they are very filling, satisfying and sweet. Coffee however you prefer it, is the perfect accompaniment.The chocolate fudge cupcake is of course is made with devil’s food cake. It’s topped with a kind of thicker chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings. This is a very rich and luxurious creation. Again, this cupcake could be a one serving but because of the richness of the dessert, it’s two servings for me. This one pairs best with milk. It’s very much like being a kid again and I dare you to take a bite without getting chocolate on your nose. Unless you use a fork, which is just weird for most Southerners. This is definitely a lick your fingers food.There is a huge variety of baked goods to choose from at the Butcher Shop & Bakery. Service is fast and there are separate pay counters for the bakery and the restaurant.Make a stop at the Butcher Shop and pick up some treats, they are very good and won’t break your wallet.

The chili on the toppings bar was really runny, so we didn’t put it on our burgers but did dip our fries in it – it is good. Fries are delicious and fresh. Choc chip cookie 7/10 and eclair 6/10 (a little dry). We get all of our cakes and petit fours from here! The turtle fudge cake is my favorite!!

The cheeseburger was very dry and had no flavor. The fries were just as bad. But I can say that everyone that worked there had a great attitude .
Excellent !!!! Service quick, food was fresh, clean restaurant. Excellent desserts. This should be your stop when your traveling through town.
If you like your hearing do NOt go to the Butcher Shop. They will YELL out the order numbers, not a social place. If you like pink burgers then you will love this. enjoy Bon appetite!!!
The Butcher Shop to me is the best place to get your birthday cakes, your kids birthday cakes, and wedding cakes. Their cakes are always made fresh to order and made from scratch I like that. I have never came here and left still hungry. The food here is good I try to stop in and eat whenever I’m home from out of town.
