Best Diminican Food. Best DOMINICAN Food served in Texas,
Our 35th Anniversary Dinner. The food was amazing! We are originally from New York living in Houston 20 years. The Puerto Rican cuisine was truly authentic. The owner and waitress were more than friendly are very helpful! And they were so gracious to surprise us with a Anniversary dessert. We will be going back and bringing others with us!
Birthday Celebration. We started my sweetheart’s 50th birthday at dinner at Punta Cana. The food was AMAZING! We are two New Yorker who longed for the authenticity of Puerto Rican cuisine. The meal was fabulous and the price was very reasonable. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. If you want authentic Puerto Rican food, I highly suggest Punta Cana.
Excellent!. Stopped by on our way back to Dallas amd we are so glad we did! Almost could not find the place si ce it is located in oneof the strip malls… In front of the mall. The food was awesome and very authentic! Our waiter was great and he was very friendly and personable… Our kids enjoyed conversing with him. On a sidenote, the kids menu is pretty much anything that is a daily special, but kids size. Will be coming back if we are in Houston again.
As soon as I knew there was a Dominican Rest. in Houston I wanted to try it. Visited to try their food and see if it is real Caribbean food. They serve not just Dominican but Puertorrican food and I also saw a Cuban sandwich on the menu. I am a Dominican born and raised in Puerto Rico with many Cuban friends, so I know how Dominican, Puertorican and Cuban food should taste. Overall the food was very good, very authentic, very tasty and well seasoned according to each country’s standards. We started with cheese and beef Empanadas and were delicious and well stuffed. We had Pernil (slow roasted pork) which was delicious with white rice and beans. The rice was a little dry for my taste but not undercooked. Beans were very good. We also had Mofongo (a Puertorican dish) which was excelent. Dominican pollo guisado (chicken stew) which was good also. The only item we ordered and did not like it was the Bistec Encebollado (cube steak) because it was tough and hard to chew but the seasoning was very good. When our waiter Edwin asked about how was everything and I mentioned about the bistec encebollado, he inmediately offered to change it for something else. The service was good and friendly and the place was very clean. I will recommend it and will visit again.21 Jun, 2013Very Good Experience with good and authentic Caribbean Food
Best Puerto Rican food. Every time we go to Houston we stop in. The portions are enough to share and the prices are very reasonable. Love it.
Wonderful restaurant. We were all eating off each others’ plates to try the variety! Definitely suggest the ceviche, mofongo with shrimp, red beans and rice, and Guyaba juice!
