I actually prefer these to to Torchys Tacos. Atmosphere is nice and the have a nice seating area outback. I would have liked to have had more sauce on my tacos just because it can be a little dry.

I was very impressed by the quality of the taco that features roast chicken. One of the biggest issues for me with tacos at various venues around town (and not just with taco trucks) is that the chicken is typically boiled and shredded and then refrigerated until ready to use. I can taste that distinct day old refrigerator taste in the chicken, especially with the dark meat and if the skin has been left on.At Velvet Taco, you will see the chickens being roasted rotisserie style. Note: the best deal to keep in mind is the Monday $10 whole roasted chicken with sides. And that is the chicken that goes onto your taco resulting in a clean, fresh taste that one doesn’t find elsewhere. For me, that it worth the price of admission. Now, the Nashville Hot Tofu option was good, and fun. those are the only two tacos I have sampled. One could have a filling meal on one taco for less than $5 here. thefriedchickenblog.blogspot.com

This is one of the coolest places you will ever go. Delicious tacos of many kinds, I’ve had the brisket, softshell crawfish, spicy chicken tikka, buffalo chicken, and cod tacos. They are all artfully designed and crafted. I took a bite of the chicken tikka taco and I was instantly transported to west London where I had my first Indian food. Each taco is an amazing theme dining experience. Velvet Taco is great for a late fourthmeal with good friends. Or a delicious lunch by yourself, either way, try something new and expect to spend between $3.50 and $5.50 on each taco, depending on what you get.

Velvet Taco opened its doors in June 2015 and has risen to the top of the taco ranks in the Washington Avenue area. For the quality ingredients, fair prices, and late opening times, this place has been a consistent place for me when I want to eat a meal under $10 (two tacos is enough to satisfy me at a time). I always order #3, the Crisp Tikka Chicken taco. Honestly, this is one of the tastiest tacos I have ever eaten. It has Indian-style chicken, spicy pepper sauce, buttered cilantro, basmati rice, raita crema, and thai basil in a flour tortilla. I don’t typically want rice in a taco, but for some reason, this taco works flawlessly. They have two separate hot sauces you can add to your tacos (a mild one and a spicier one). They are both incredible and add a lot of flavor to your taco. They won’t just burn your mouth like other hot sauces you may have encounter. There is a wide selection of tacos to choose from, and I have been experimenting with them all. Unfortunately, I am still searching for another taco to knock my socks off, but they all fall short compared to the Crisp Tikka Chicken. What to order:-#3 Crisp Tikka Chicken – $3.75 eachPros:-Private parking lot-Open late (Sunday-Tuesday until midnight, Wednesday until 2 a.m., Thursday-Saturday until 4 a.m.)Cons:-Parking lot is usually full (DON’T park in the Jack In The Box parking lot, you’ll get towed)-Food prep may take time, but worth the wait
