When you first walk in, the inside is much cleaner than the way the outside appears. The place was packed and even as I ate, more customers seemed to fill in.As you order at the register, the customer service is pretty standard, nothing stands out.I ordered a cheeseburger combo, which comes with fries and drink. The combo is less than $10, which was definitely a plus! They brought the food to my table and the first thing I noticed was the cheap-looking bun. In addition, the cheese was not melted, so I assume that the patty was cooked first and then the cheese was added at the end. Maybe I’m picky, but I prefer for my cheeseburgers to have melted cheese from cooking with the patty. The bun was flavorless and possibly didn’t have any butter. The patty was a great size, however, dry and flavorless. Whether there was seasoning or not, I typically expect salt and pepper as basic requirements. The patty was also cooked well-done.The french fries were slightly greasy, (which I typically prefer) however, they were not crispy whatsoever. The seasoning was also slightly off on the fries. I am not sure what was used, but I could not stand more than a few fries.Despite the price, size of the burger, and cleanliness, the burger simply was nothing special. I would recommend getting a burger at the Whataburger or McDonalds nearby instead. It is sad to say that I will not be coming again.
A Good Burger. I passed this place up the first time. Just drove right passed it thinking it was on Story Road at Rochelle. It actually is before you get to Rochelle, on the east side of the street, right next to MAAco. It kind of looks like a refurbished Long John Silvers, which it may have been. I ordered the jalapeno cheeseburger and was surprised at how meaty the burger was. Pickled sliced jalapenos covered the meat along with a half slice of cheese. The meat was seasoned nicely. I got the combo, which came with a 10 ounce Coke product from the dispenser and a good portion of natural cut fries. The fries were nice and fresh, but weren’t double fried so they were served limp and lifeless. The ketchup was an off brand, I noticed from the container on the main counter. It wasn’t bad. At least I know that the ketchup was fresh because the bottles were as cold as could be. The buns were Mrs. Bairds, I am assuming, because the Mrs. Bairds semi was pulled off to the side of the restaurant. The buns were good and fresh. The counter service was fine. The price for my meal was less than $10.00, so I considered that a bargain. The interior was clean with just the basics. Plastic plants and setups for take out food.. There were a couple of candy machines for children, and I supposed adults–the kind where you drop a quarter and turn the crank and the candy drops out below. Seating was regular booths, with a couple of TV’s on, both with competing sound. I bussed my own table. There were dish bins sitting atop the trash cans, where I deposited my plate and silverware and tossed my refuse into the can below. This was a good place to stop. They open at 10:00 each morning, so you can get a jump on an early lunch and not have to fight the crowds. In addition to burgers, they also prepare a number of other sandwiches as well. I can see myself returning when I am in the area, especially since it is just a minute north of 183.
The Smelliest place I have ever been to… I ordered a vegetarian burger that tasted like HELL! ! IT HAD WAY TOO MUCH SALT.. and also the restaurant is very old and it Smells Absolutely terrible inside! Nasty !!:(
Jungle burger was awesome , bacon burger was dry with no flavor. Won’t be back
Service is so-so but the burgers are huge and are cooked very fast. I’ve not strayed away from the burger side of the menu. Fried mushrooms are okay.
Burger was dry. No pizaz. Not good at all.
Absolutely the largest, best burgers for the money. The guacamole burger is the best I’ve had.
